Like many, when I first heard of a Toastmaster, I had no actual clue what one was. Surely it couldn’t be about toast? This is why I have come up with a handy little guide as to why you may choose to hire one, and why they can really help you to have a stress free, and enjoyable day!

As a bride, groom, wedding planner, or in fact anyone. If you are arranging a wedding day there are many different things that are to happen at certain times throughout the day. Of course, there will need to be structure! If you are trying to meet your guests and keep one eye or ear on all those things happening, then you simply cannot relax and enjoy it as much as you should.
It goes without saying, vast sums are spent on making the perfect wedding a reality, but aren’t you entitled to enjoy it too? Especially as its your big day… so, what does a Toastmaster do to make this happen?If you ask most people what a Toastmaster does, the typical response is that he or she is a person in a red coat who makes announcements in a loud voice! However, this description is slightly more of a town crier than Toastmaster. They can in-fact do so, so much more to help. Look at the toastmaster as though they are the ‘carry-outer’ of the day.
Their job is to take the running order of the day and make it work. No matter what happens. If they are doing things as they should, they will be ensuring everybody is where they should be, when they should be. Sounds great right? They will be ensuring that all the guests are being looked after and that everything is in place, as it should be. Your day will run perfectly smooth!
Toastmasters are also there to give all those who have to perform, or do speeches a part a helping hand and boost confidence if required. And finally, they are there to make a few relevant announcements, keeping things running to time, and giving a little extra tradition and professionalism to your day!
The best bit is they can work in parallel with all the venue staff, your photographers, videographers and other suppliers, too make sure that things happen to time and there are no nasty surprises for anyone. Just imagine standing up to give a speech and your videographer isn’t ready? It shouldn’t happen if you use a professional toastmaster!
How To Find Your Perfect Toastmaster…
Think of choosing your perfect toastmaster like you would any other supplier. Try going to lots of wedding fairs to meet them, and make sure that you get on well. You wouldn’t book any other supplier if you didn’t get on really well, so make sure that you do the same with your toastmaster! Also, make sure that you chose one that is trained to a professional standard. At the end of the day, anyone can put a red coat and pretend to be one, but I bet you they will not be anyway near as good as a professional.
