The Wedding Affair Review: A Traditional & Vintage Luxury Show at Ripon Cathedral
Hello lovelies! How’s your week going so far? Easter is well and truly in sight, and as I try pry myself away from the Lint chocolate egg that has being staring at me for the past month (strawberry and cream, my *absolute* favourite!). My mum always taught us not to eat them before Easter Sunday, and admittedly still does, of course now with a hint of sarcasm. Even though I am now 18, that is a tradition that I daren’t dare break and I am sure I will pass on. Does your Family have any traditions with special occasions and seasonal events? Do let us know in the comments section at the bottom of the page!
For today’s feature we are throwing it all the way back to January. Gosh isn’t this year just flying by!? It definitely seems that as I grow older time goes by so much quicker. Anyhow, As you may remember we host our up-most luxury show at Ripon Cathedral every January, and this year’s was the prettiest yet. If you joined us you will have being greeted by cocktails and canapés; beautiful blooming flowers, gorgeous gowns and just about everything imaginable in-between.
You are in for such a treat this morning, we have received the GORGEOUS pictures courtesy of All You need Is Love Photography, from our show at Ripon Cathedral. We can’t keep our eyes off them, she captured the day perfectly and i’m 100% sure she would do the same for your wedding. Check out All You Need Is Love Photography‘s web page here and say a quick ‘Hello’ if you too are swooning over these pretty pictures.
As well as showcasing these images we are going to do a little re-cap of the day, including the up-most talented suppliers, the prettiest wedding details and of course, the breath-taking venue, Ripon Cathedral. For this one we recommend you sit down with a lovely cuppa’ or glass of wine (depending on what time is it, of course.) enjoy!
On with the pretty…
Not only does Ripon Cathedral provide a pretty spectacular back-drop for the catwalks that we host (more on that later) but it too gives suppliers of any kind the best background to showcase their work to Brides and Grooms-to-be and their families. Suppliers take advantage of the unique settings and provide some real show stopping stands. All you need to do is look at these pictures to realise just how good it all looks!
Not only did Brides and Grooms get to sample delicious cocktails, but got to see some of the finest entertainment from Yorkshire and beyond. The Event Music Company filled the Cathedral with some stunning classic music to create the perfect atmosphere, whilst Club Class Entertainment provided the band for a much more lively performance for the catwalk shows.
We also had great entertainment from Mark Waddinton, a magician. Brides had the chance to also get a cartoon character drawn of themselves courtesy of Ingrid Sylvester Art.
Once again, as you can see we had the finest suppliers at the show. Shindig! Event Styling, who joined us at Ripon Cathedral also joined us at many other Spring shows, and we were so lucky! Cristel’s tablescapes never failed to wow both us, and visitors at the fairs. For brides seeking some uber chic styling, Critstel, from Shindig! Event Styling is your girl.
Floral Pride also wowed brides with their colourful array of blooms, including one show stopper of a centre piece, of course, making sure there was plenty of the Pantone Colour Of The Year thrown in there too!💐🌿🌷
The Bridal Affair and Forevermore Bridal showcased their new 2017 collections at the show, and they were nothing less than swoon worthy. Did you find your dream dress floating down the catwalk?
Not only did we have the area’s finest bridal houses, but we too had venues from across Yorkshire, The North-East and beyond. Keep your eyes peeled to see more gorgeous images of the most prestigious and unique venues.
And, as for the boys? They were greeted with the finest tailored suits, both bespoke and hire wear is an option so they really were spoiled for choice. Above, you can see the fine collection that Top Mark Suit Hire brought with him. After all, who doesn’t love a man in a suit?
Also, what would Yorkshire’s largest FREE entry wedding fair be without arts and crafts to participate in? The lovely Sarah from kiss the Bride organised some fabulous activities for the DIY bride to get stuck into.
Love you will find everything you will ever need for your oh-so gorgeous vintage wedding. Whether it be dainty floral head pieces, to the teeniest flower girl dresses and PYO wedding flowers – they honestly had it all up there. Again, a huge thanks to Sarah who organised the Kiss the Bride Vintage quarter, it looked pretty darn amazing!
We literally had ALL the pretty at our show. Both Zoe’s Fancy Cakes and The Vintage Cake Fairy always provide the most stunning (and delicious!) cakes.
And, once again the lovely Sarah from Farm stunned us with her blooming’ gorgeous table scape and flowers. Sarah never ever fails to create something beautiful, creative and bang on trend. Below, you will find some more images of her hard at work🌼 🌸 🌺
P.S – The Vintage Tea-Rooms were a big hit too!
Mix & Twist Bartending always ensured that the cocktails flowed throughout the whole day, did you try their Pornstar Martini? Delicious…
We had the best catering at the show too, Belgian Waffle Tuk have waffles that you would die for, literally. As well as ruling our sugar cravings throughout the day, both brides and grooms found them irresistible, and as for Luigi? Wouldn’t he make for the cutest addition to a wedding?
Stationery on the day was so on point, Brooke Stationery, Wagtail Designs and The Wedding Stationery Company had some super gorgeous designs, hola at them for some bespoke pretty loveliness.
We of course, couldn’t miss out the catwalks too. Stunning bridal wear, bridesmaids gowns, mother of the bride and menswear floated, and danced down the catwalks. it was a sight to behold and one that many, many couples enjoy!
Exhibitors, if you would love to exhibit with us for our next show taking place at Ripon Cathedral on the 27th January 2018 then I would love to hear from you. Please do pop a quick e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org…
