Personalise your wedding with reception table names that are meaningful to you.
Your wedding is all about you: personal, bespoke, and dedicated to you as a couple.
Of course, here at The Wedding Affair and WeddingHour, we’re always encouraging you to make your big day your own (and introducing you to the finest suppliers who know how to bring your own ideas to life). Whether it’s a tailor-made bridal gown, a bespoke suit or a personalised cake-topper, there’s a wealth of options available to make the day all about you.
One of our favourite ways to personalise your wedding day is with by choosing your table names. It’s a little – but important – touch in your big day celebrations that allows you to have fun and make your day all about you. There are so many ideas out there, it’s hard to choose! However, this week, our Top Tips Tuesday is taking you through a couple of our favourite ideas that showcase something special about you, as the couple of the day, to personalise your wedding reception tables.
Cities and Countries
Booked Paris for a romantic honeymoon? Got engaged in New York? Fell in love in your Scottish hometown? Map your relationship by naming your reception tables after the places that mean something special to you. From towns you hope to live in someday to countries you’ve visited together, it’s all about the places that are emotive to both of you.
Lyrics and Bands
Our Monday Moodboard last week showcased a music-inspired wedding day. Why not carry that theme through to your reception tables? Name tables after your favourite bands or the concerts you’ve attended together. To hit an even more personal note, you could add lyrics that means something special to you, such as the lines from your first dance song, or those that sum-up you as a couple.
Authors and Quotes
Following from the lyrics theme, we love the idea of naming each table after an author you love (perfect for the literacy-loving couple). Why not add a quote from one of their novels to your table plaque? This is a great way to state an expression of how you feel about one another if you’re a little shy: you can let the author take the credit for the lines of love! If you’re not a book lover, the quote idea also works perfectly using lines from your favourite films, or quotes from your favourite actors and actresses (ideal for a glamorous, Hollywood black-tie theme).
Cocktails and Drinks
Favourite beer? Love a Sauvignon Blanc? Always trying different types of coffee? Name your tables after your favourite tipples! Not only is this idea lively and fun, it also gives you the perfect favour ideas: why not give a corresponding drink, with personalised bottle label, thanking your guests for their attendance? Just make sure you pick a soft drink for the kids’ table!
There are endless possibilities when choosing your table names. It’s all about what makes you special as a couple. What ideas did you choose? We’d love to hear your individual ideas, and why you chose them (there’s always a great story!). Comment below, or send your ideas to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
