It’s time for a cocktail!
Whether for your drinks reception, as a toast to the speeches or even as a favour for your guests, cocktails are increasingly popular as your wedding day drink of choice.
Many couples choose a cocktail bar for their evening reception. Ask us for recommendations for some of the finest mixologists in the industry over on The Wedding Affair: we’ve tasted their drinks, and they’re amazing! We also love the idea of naming your reception tables after your favourite cocktails, and cocktail making classes are ever-popular hen party events (we wonder why..?!).
Therefore, we’re delighted to be bringing you our brand new series for 2016: The Wedding Affair & WeddingHour’s Cocktail of the Month.
We know many of you have said ‘Goodbye’ to the booze for January, whether as a post-Christmas health-kick or a charity Dryathlon. However, you need to get that list of wedding day cocktails drawn up, and you can put this one down to taste in February!
For those of you that haven’t given up drinking for January, it’s time to try a Whiskey Sour! One of the grooms’ most popular, this classic, year-round cocktail recipe comes courtesy of Thomas Mario. Unlike many other Whiskey Sour mixes, this recipe is without the egg whites: so it’s easier to whip up on the spot at your wedding or to pre-prepare (and also better suited if you’re intolerant to eggs). A historic cocktail, Thomas Mario’s recipe using a subtle hit of citrus that allows the whiskey to shine through.
Shake – don’t stir – and enjoy!
