anyone for cocktails?
So the celebrations are over, your heels have been tossed aside, the wedding food has been ravished and your guests are all danced out! Everyone in attendance has had an incredible time, so why stop there? It’s becoming a popular trend for many couples to continue their celebrations, even after their ceremony and reception’s are over.
Sure, an elegant and beautiful ceremony, followed by a delicious meal and a fantastic party, is more than enough to celebrate your union! But if you really want to keep the enjoyment going for your guests, then why not? Here are my ideas on how to continue your wedding day celebrations, the morning after the night before…
If your wedding reception is taking place at a hotel or a stately home, it’s more than likely that many of your guests are going to be staying over for the night. Why not organise a surprise Afternoon Tea for yourselves and your loved ones before they leave? I’d advise against a sit down breakfast, as many of your guests will want to sleep in after a late night of partying, but Afternoon Tea will surely end your celebration in style. I’d include a selection of scones, cheese and crackers, biscuits, teas and coffees and champagne for your guests. A tip would be to ask your venue early on, if they can incorporate an Afternoon Tea deal into your overall wedding day package. They may be willing to offer you a great deal, if you book early enough…
‘Thank You’ Breakfast
If you’re not sure about Afternoon Tea, perhaps many of your guests will be leaving the venue bright and early, then why not treat your loved ones to a surprise ‘Thank You’ Breakfast? Have them delivered to your guests private rooms on the morning after the night before. This idea could be as simple as provided complimentary fruit baskets alongside a selection of cereals, or if you really want to treat them, go ahead and serve up hot breakfasts for all! Your venue should be more than happy to help and again, will almost certainly agree to work this into your overall wedding package price.
Why not ask a family member or one of your bridesmaids to host a Cocktail Afternoon at their home for you? Invite your close friends and family, get dressed up and enjoy an afternoon of cocktails, left over wedding cake and a whole lot of laughs! Open your wedding gifts, read your guest book and congratulations cards and just generally reflect on the day together. This idea makes for a wonderful ‘day after’ event as everyone will still be excited for you and eager to enjoy this special moment with you.
Let’s say that you’d prefer to spend the next day with just yourself and your partner? Then say goodbye to all of your guests early and head off for Luxury Spa Day together! Book this well in advance to be sure to get a great deal, so you still have something to look forward to, even after the wedding celebrations are over! Enjoy the afternoon dipping in the pool, relaxing in the steam room, enjoying a full body massage together and just general enjoying some quality time together as newlyweds.
Finally, if you really want something to look forward to, just go down the traditional route and head straight off for your Honeymoon the next morning! Enjoy an early breakfast-in-bed and then grab your cases, have your car pick you up from the venue and enjoy an incredible holiday together! Nothing says newlyweds like two weeks lounging around on the beach and sunbathing on your private balcony. A tip would be to have a friend or family member make sure your cases are waiting at reception for you, to avoid any delays.
So there you have it, some of my ideas on how to carry on the celebrations, into the next day, and make sure you still have something to look forward to, even after the wedding gown is off and the cake is long gone!
