Bobbi Brown’s make-up range has become truly iconic, so who better to guide you through the step-by-step process to achieving that perfect wedding day look ?
WeddingHour’s The Beauty Bible would love to welcome you to Part One of the ultimate Step-By-Step Bridal Beauty Lesson. This week, the step-by-step process will show you – in order – which products Bobbi Brown recommends to form the perfect base for your wedding day make-up and to even your skin tone.
Bobbi Brown’s website is absolutely packed with fabulous beauty lessons, so you can take tips from the lady herself, and her talented team, for the perfect make-up look – whatever the occasion. We’re delighted to able to share some of the tips with you that we gathered from Bobbi’s professional guide and master-classes at Brides The Show with, of course, our own personal take (we just had to try the products out for ourselves!). Let us know what you think of Bobbi’s fabulous beauty tips, and share your own favourites from the range with WeddingHour followers by commenting below:
Your face should be a blank canvas for your make-up application, and smooth, clean and moisturised skin is best achieved using Bobbi’s Hydrating Face Cream. It’s free from facial oils, so your make-up won’t crease, and is easily absorbed into the skin to ensure that your foundation will go on flawlessly.
2. Corrector & Concealer
One of Laura’s personal favourite make-up products, the Creamy Concealer Kit and the Corrector will hide those dark-eye shadows for a big day, bright-eyed look. Apply the corrector first, and then smooth over with the concealer: setting with the powder. A specialist consultant at your local Bobbi Brown (check out your local department store) will help you find the right shade.
Achieve a gorgeous, even skin tone with Bobbi’s Foundation Stick. It has a slight yellow-tone, which perfectly counteracts the pink tones in your skin (which are often emphasised by flash photography). Recommended for all skin types (except for the very oily), it’s also really easy to apply: perfect if you need a quick top-up during the day.
4. Powder & Bronzer
There’s nothing worse than a shiny-looking face in your photos, so make sure your skin is looking polished by setting your concealer and foundation with Bobbi’s Sheer Finish Pressed Powder. It works wonders for setting your make-up in place and extending its wear: we can vouch for that! Finally, if your dress has an open neckline, give added warmth and a sun-kissed glow to your neck and chest areas with a dusting of Bronzing Powder.
5. Blush & Highlighter
Nothing says ‘Blushing Bride’ quite like Blush: Bobbi’s gorgeous palette. Bobbi recommends two shades: start with a neutral base, the top off with a brighter ‘pop’ shade applied just to the apples of your cheeks. Once you’ve applied your Blush, give yourself a little extra glow with the Shimmer Brick. Dusting a little shimmer on your cheekbones will truly give you a gorgeous bridal glow.
You can buy all of the products featured here directly from the Bobbi Brown website.
