Enjoy Christmas to the full without compromising your pre-wedding diet!
Roast potatoes, mulled wine, mince pies, chocolates on the tree…‘Tis the season to indulge!
However, if you’re wedding’s on the horizon, and you have goals to stick to, it can be a time to worry about how much festive food is on the table.
Don’t worry: The Beauty Bible is here to help. We have our top tips for brides and grooms alike to help you enjoy office parties and turkey dinners without missing out or calorie counting (who wants to do that at Christmas?!).
We always tell our brides and grooms to make sure any wedding weight they choose to lose is for the right reasons. Remember: your husband or wife to be loves you as you are, so don’t go changing for anyone other than yourself. If you have decided to lose a few pounds before your wedding, The Beauty Bible can help you get there in the healthiest way possible.
Good news: tuck into your turkey this Christmas! It’s high in protein, low in fat and contains fewer calories per slice than chicken: win-win! Take the skin off if you fancy saving a few calories on your meat for that extra pre-wedding boost.
Roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings…the delicious food that makes up our Christmas dinners can be packed with calories. Don’t worry: we’re certainly not saying you should miss out! A couple of tweaks can easily reduce the calorie count, meaning you can tuck right in without any pre-wedding worries.
Of course, your veggies are a great start: sprouts are festive staples (whether we like it or not!). However, you can still enjoy your favourites. Why not trying roasting your potatoes in vegetable stock (simply pour over your potatoes as you pop them in the oven, adding a little garlic or herbs for extra flavour)? For your Yorkshire puds, you could try lower-fat soya milk as well as reduced sodium salt to keep the calories down but the taste high!
All those heavy, coffee shop festive favourites can be packed with hidden – and not-so-hidden – calories: look at all that whipped cream!
Make sure you still enjoy a warming eggnog latte your Christmas shopping trip. Simply ask for no whipped cream, grab a skimmed or soya milk – rather than whole milk – drink, and save some calories with a sugar-free syrup. Tasty, festive, winter-warming and wedding-ready!
Delicious Baileys Irish Cream – it’s one of our favourite drinks! Who can resist a festive winter cocktail?
However, if you’re worried about your post-Christmas wedding, there are so many other cocktails to choose from. We love a mojito: why not swap the sugar for some tasty fruits, such as watermelon? Or ask for a splash of fresh lime rather than a pre-mixed syrup in your margarita?
Not a cocktail fan? Go for a diet mixer, or slim-line tonic, with your vodka: avoid wedding worries and stay in the Christmas spirit!
Whatever delicious delights you’re tucking into this festive season, make sure you enjoy with your wedding diet worries at bay. Merry Christmas!
