What kind of scent is best for a wedding?
Traditionally, floral scents that are light and delicate are best for weddings as they exude emotions of love and romance. Single floral notes such as rose, carnation and violet, or fruity scents with notes of oranges and lemons, can help to lower stress levels as well as being understated and warm in scent.
For a bride who can’t imagine a wedding without roses, our floral pick is from one of the most anticipated debut fragrance ranges from Louis Vuitton. Light and airy, this beautiful rose fragrance dispels misconceptions that floral fragrances are syrupy and heavy – it’s like walking straight into a florist filled with gorgeous fresh blooms. Sublime!
There’s a spicy, modern edge , that’s thanks to the cedar and pepper, so you (definitely!) won’t smell like your grandma. For the avid floral lovers, you will just adore Rose Des Vents, a scent by Louis Vuitton.

Usually brides-to-be are looking for a special scent for their wedding: one that they can smell in the future to remember their big day, conjuring up those oh-so precious moments of the day. It’s important for brides to try new scents in advance of their wedding, so that they can experience the chemistry of the fragrance on their skin, along with the experience of planning a wedding. People do say that different fragrances smell different on different people, after all!
The chosen perfume should be one that compliments either your personal style, ceremony and season of wedding, so do make sure you do your shopping around and research prior to splurging.

You should also bear in mind the season that your wedding is booked for. If you’ve opted for a summer wedding then floral filled and fruity scents marry perfectly, as they stay light and refreshing throughout the day. If your wedding is booked for winter, try a slightly warmer scent with ingredients such as amber and chocolate; sensual, sultry scents. Delish!
For the ladies that are wanting to add a touch of Autumnal and Winter spice to their wedding, The Wedding Affair recommends Byredo Flowerhead. This decadent scent was in-fact inspired by the flowers at a traditional Indian wedding and the huge garlands exchanged by the bride and groom. It’s a sexy, addictive and intense scent; and interestingly, it works just as well in summer as it does in winter and moves from day to night with ease. An adaptable fragrance (if ever there was one).

How to go about choosing a new fragrance?
Weddings need a lot of planning — and picking the perfect scent can be just as important as organising the flowers and the dress. Look back at previous scents you’ve enjoyed wearing and see what ingredients they have in common. If you pick something with similar notes then it’s almost guaranteed to be a winner.
When you’re out testing scents, be it a your local Boots or Jo Malone, don’t spray too many; stick to three or four as a maximum. The scents start mixing and it’s hard to decide which one you actually like.
You may love the top notes but, after spraying the tester, walk around for an hour or so, allowing the fragrance to develop and settle, so you can check you love the base notes too. The perfect scent should complement you, not overpower you or leave you feeling sickly.

A Memorable Gift To Your Girls!
Gifting perfume to your bridesmaids is the perfect way to show them how much you appreciate all their help. Think about gifting them a scent that they can wear on the day, when they accompany you down the aisle or simply to match their personalities.
