The Beauty Bible: H2O Hydration
Morning lovelies, happy Friyay! The weekend is almost in sight and we couldn’t be more excited to relax and enjoy long summer evenings in the sun, accompanied by bubbly, of course! What are you all getting up to over the weekend (Wedmin, I do hope)?
Today, we have a lovely bit of light reading for you from our ever popular ‘The Beauty Bible’ feature; where we bring you some reviews of skincare products, tips and tricks and of course, the low down on all of the beauty products that we love over from our pretty little space of the internet. Admittedly, I do have a teeny obsession with anything containing glitter, NARS and Sunday Riley (AKA, The best thing to ever come to au naturel skin care), which I’m sure you will always finding me writing about.
What products would you 100% recommend me taking a look at? I’m always open to new ideas and love taking a good nosey through reviews and heading off to the shops to find some good samples!
However back to this weeks edition of The Beauty Bible, and it’s somewhat a little different, yet something we should all have everyday (If not, then I would be really, really worried if I were you!) It’s readily available and unlike skin care brands it’s cheap as chips. Yes, you guessed correctly. Your every day dose of H2O works absolute magic for your skin, of course with every other benefit it has, too.

What Is It?
We all know what water is, but as a recap – water is a colourless liquid made up from two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom, creating its chemical name H2O. Water covers 71 per cent of the world’s surface and is an essential for human life.
See, you learn something new everyday!

How To Get ‘The Glow’ On The Cheap?
So, You’re stressed. You’re busy. You’re tired. But your skin doesn’t have to look that way! Admittedly, Wedmin can be hard and will take it’s toll on your bank account. However, not keeping up your water levels will lead to Dehydration. And unfortunately this is directly reflected in your skin (think dullness, dryness, and general blah-ness). Hello, H2O to the rescue!
By drinking water, it will help maintain your energy level for all of the planning, festivities and goings on whilst helping your complexion look brighter, flawless and radiant. Drinking water keeps everything in your body moving, so it helps the lymphatic system to push out impurities, it delivers necessary nutrients, and it drains and expels impurities that are making skin look dull.
Water essentially moisturises your skin, keeping it fresh, soft, glowing and smooth. And, just like any good quality moisturiser, water actually minimises the appearance of wrinkles. Surely it’s the cheapest anti-ageing solution there is?

So, whilst we have already touched upon the fact a humble glass of water clearly does wonders for your skin, how much should you actually drink and too, what’s classed as a ‘healthy’ amount?
The ideal amount of water you should be drinking a day is at least three to four litres of filtered water. Of course, when it comes to the reality of it. downing that much water in one day can be hard (OK, very hard!). To increase enjoyment of drinking water, why not thrown in a few fruits? Limes and lemons create a delicious zesty drink that help cleanse and raise internal pH, whilst cucumbers can help to sooth aggravated skin.
There are many fruits that pair great with water, so have a good research and you could even be swapping those summer cocktails to something well, a little healthier.
That’s if you are super dedicated, anyway.

Other Benefits Of Upping Your Water Intake…
Now we know that upping the water intake can produce some gorgeous glowing skin. As we are on the topic of water I thought it would be good to round of this blog with some other benefits of drinking. (nope I don’t mean Gin, either)
Upping the water levels can actually make you feel more energised, banish away headaches and keep you bright eyed for longer. Since your brain is mostly water, drinking it helps you think, focus and concentrate better and be more alert, too. So, we say ditch the energy drink and swap it for an ice cold glass of water.
Thinking of going on a pre-wedding diet? Water can actually promote weight loss by boosting metabolism and removing by-products of fat. As well as this, water helps flush out toxins which reduces the risk of infections and leaving you feeling great for one of the most special days of your life.
