Top Tips Tuesday: Cocktail Of The Month… Strawberry Basil Ginger Cocktail

If you’re planning a spring wedding, you’ve probably already incorporated some of the season’s best trends into your wedding — a gorgeous colour palette filled with the pantone colour of the year, fresh and delicate blooms, and more fun, fresh twists that your guests will just love. But, did you think about the bar? Keep things just as seasonal during cocktail hour with signature drinks that celebrate all spring has to offer.
Our cocktail today brings us all kinds of spring feels. A beautiful botanical blend. The floral and lemony flavor of basil pairs perfectly with this strawberry-infused drink. Add a zing from ginger ale or freshly grated ginger, and a splash of vodka, of course! Lovely…
Ingredients: To make 3 delicious cocktails…
2 cups chopped strawberries
4 large basil leaves
1 can ginger beer
sugar, for rim
strawberries, to garnish
Plenty of ice
Combine the strawberries and basil in a high-speed blender and blend until pureed, about 15 seconds should do (this should make about 1 cup of puree).
For the sugar rims, slice a strawberry in half and rub it around the edge of your cocktail glasses and turn upside down in sugar. Next, carefully fill glasses with ice, then pour about 1/3 cup strawberry-basil puree into each glass. To each glass, add 42 ml vodka, then top with ginger ale, or soda water if preferred.
