The Beauty Bible: Lipstick Of The Month… Ruby Woo!
It’s come back round to our favourite time of the week again! First of all we love writing our famous ‘Beauty Bible‘ posts, and we hope you do to? Second of all, it’s the time of the month that we come to write all about our favourite lippies, and what shades, and textures we are loving for this time of the year. You can’t get much better than on a Friday can you? And, just in time for the weekend!
Of course, it is only right that at this time of year we choose a lipstick that is just made for the festive period. Christmas and New Year is a time to to bring back out the velvety, and luxurious bright red hues, perfect for making stand out statements. So, whether you are having a beautiful winter wedding, or just shopping around for the perfect lip colour to wear for your work’s Christmas night out. You can be sure that we have it sorted here at The Wedding Affair.
For professional, and ever so lovely make-up artists, do take a look at The Wedding Affair’s approved supplier guide. They will be able to expertly apply your make-up for any occasion!
For this month’s ‘Lipstick Of The Month’ we obviously had to choose a red! And, this is one that you may have seen a lot over social media at the moment. Ruby Woo by Mac Cosmetics is well known as one of the original cult classics of the brand. It is true to say that I don’t think that anyone who is a fan of Mac products won’t have tried or heard of this bright bold lipstick.
The colour is described by Mac Cosmetics as a very matte vivid blue-red. Even though this makes the formula appear more suited to cooler undertones, it works perfectly with warmer too. The colour Ruby Woo really does look gorgeous on literally every skin tone! Whether you are super fair skinned, dark skinned and everything in between. If you’re looking for a matte red colour that really stands out from the others and, looks like an almost soft electric/ neon red, this colour is definitely for you.
As said above, Ruby Woo is a very matte lip colour, so perfect for using as a statement lip colour. With the right prep, this shade can easily last up to a great 8 hours! You could actually get away with no top ups using this at your wedding, night out, or even just for day time use. Normally, Red or bright lipsticks tend to bleed a lot but Ruby Woo does not move a bit, this must be down to it’s ultra matte formula. It can sit comfortably on lips without bleeding at all!
For extra precision, and more longevity why not use a lip liner to pair with Ruby Woo? Luckily for you Mac Cosmetics have this all covered, and in exactly the same shade! Their Lip Pencils have a smooth, creamy texture that is perfect for outlining lips or colouring them in.
Also, if you are looking for a scent to match Ruby Woo, why not try out the new Mac Cosmetics Ruby Woo Shade Scent?
Described as “An arresting rouge-red fragrance featuring a sultry deep red leather note that commands attention.” Who knew you could get a scent to match your lipstick?! The perfect stocking filler…
Overall, if you are looking for a lip colour that is highly pigmented, long wearing, and ever so iconic. We believe that Ruby Woo will be an option to really stand out. Whether you are getting married or having a Christmas night out with the girls!
Have you tried Ruby Woo before? What are your opinions on it? Or what’s your favourite red lippy? We would love to know!
Have a lovely weekend everyone! x
