Monday Mood Board: Elegant & Romantic Wedding Inspiration
Good morning, gorgeous ones! I hope you all had the loveliest weekend, whatever you may have been up to. I spent the weekend with family and friends ahead of my Birthday that is tomorrow, catching up and just been generally cheery. I’ve definitely found that birthdays are much more about the people that you surround yourself with and making memories, as opposed to materialistic objects.
I guess, the same could be said for your wedding, but it is a one off occasion and if your vision is lavish and the one of dreams, then there’s no reason that you shouldn’t splurge. That is for you and your partner to decide, after all! So if you’re aiming for a gorgeous, and incredibly timeless look at your wedding, perhaps a more formal affair – you are certainly in the right place! For this weeks ‘Monday Mood Board‘ feature we are focusing on gorgeous ivory and everything chic that goes with.
Dreamy classic weddings are all about sophistication and your vision should tell a story of elegance. From the venue selection to the blooms and entertainment; it’s all essential in carrying this theme off with style and flair.
The good things about an ivory colour scheme is that they go great with just about anything. From the grand historic buildings to set the scene, through to the tiny little details for the decoration. Another great thing about choosing an ivory palette for your wedding is that you can choose a traditional theme or a rustic, or anything in fact!

A common desire for brides seeking a classic wedding look is show-stopping reception decor; a room that upon entering, will take your guests’ breath away, literally. There’s often no better way to achieve this than with tall and larger than life floral centre pieces that spill over with lush blooms. Take a look at the board below for inspiration, pretty pastels and opulent blooms.
A popular flower choice for ivory flowers are roses. Roses are well known for their connotations of romance and of course, their beauty. In light blush and ivory they make the perfect colour combination for a classic wedding. A compact design with tightly arranged flowers will truly stand the test of time. Ask your florist to show you other options such as Peonies and Hydrangea for that voluptuous, full effect look.

A traditional wedding does not mean it is boring in any way. Classic weddings are generally more reliant on the colours for the ‘theme’ or feel of the event.
There are also not usually a lot of the “alternative” details that you may find in say a rustic wedding. For example, beautiful grand floral centrepieces may play a big role in a classic wedding, rather than different props, and a magnificent tiered wedding cake may be your option rather than a dessert tables.

For your classical affair, why not opt for a gown that’s beautiful decorated with applique flowers, and dainty pearls, soft champagne hues would also pair stunningly with your ivory colour palettes!
One Classic yet sensual and stylish dress that features a modern highlight would be an A-line style such as the statement gowns that Suzanne Neville designs. Beautiful, right? It would be a nod to tradition that would be expected of a much more classic wedding.
