The Wedding Affair’s Perfect Planning Guide… More On Event Stylists!
We are on to our fifth week of The Wedding Affair’s Perfect Planning Guide, which means our fifth category of luxurious wedding suppliers beginning with the letter E. Bringing you everything to do with statement styling and the people behind the magic!
If you attended The Wedding Affair at The Royal Hall, our designer show… you will have seen just how beautiful event stylists can make even the smallest spaces. Using floristry, furniture, crockery and an extensive range of props.
So what is an “Event Stylist” you may ask?
A wedding and event stylists’ responsibilities are to create a positive (and obviously beautiful) impression. To stir up lovely positive past memories, and to create a new memorable experience for guests and event go-ers through aesthetics.
From helping to select your wedding theme and colours to designing every detail at your ceremony and reception, a wedding stylist can really work wonders! Whilst a wedding planner takes care of the organisational aspect of your event, a stylist will make sure that your venue looks absolutely stunning.
We think that investing in a stylist is a smart choice if you want your space to look unique, extravagant and jam-packed with gorgeous details you would never have time to find or create yourself!
So, how to choose the perfect stylist? Start by picturing your big day. Is it a glam event in a big space with stunning lighting effects, bold colours and plenty of luxe details? Or perhaps you are dreaming of a romantic vintage tea party in an enchanting garden marquee? Your event stylist should be someone who can turn this dream into reality…
Start by browsing event styling services in your area and take a look at The Wedding Affair’s Approved Supplier List. Look for the most sought-after professionals with impressive portfolios, experience and (of course) great reputation.
Alternatively, if you have a specific theme in mind such as rustic vintage, try to find a small boutique company that specialises in this type of styling. Make sure to check out their previous work (!!). Do you like what you see on their websites? If you have found an event stylist whose portfolio you really love, then why not take the next step and book an appointment to discuss your wedding dreams?
Talk through with them what types of services your event stylist covers. Typically, they will take care of your wedding flowers and centrepieces, furniture rentals, backdrops, decorations and sometimes dessert tables. But perhaps you want to add something special to your reception venue such as a stunning wine or cocktail bar, love letters, props or other unique lighting solutions? Ask the stylist if they can arrange this, they will more than likely have some fantastic contacts!
Remember, if you don’t have a clear vision of your wedding styling, then you may need a stylist who will create one for you… and trust us when we say they will do an exceptional job!
If you also booked a wedding planner, then find out if there are any overlaps. Wedding planning services usually include choosing and booking your ceremony and reception venues, and contacting vendors such as florists, but if you prefer that the stylist is in charge of some of these aspects of planning instead, then your planner should cooperate with them. Remember that the planner is responsible for organisation while the stylist is there to create the design.
