Monday Mood Board: The Perfect Pinterest Wedding… Yay or Nay?
Good morning from our little corner of the internet, What did you get up to over this rather gorgeous weekend? I headed over to The Saddle Room with Lisa on Saturday to help out at their wedding fair. Gosh, what a stunning venue it was too. I’m from East Yorkshire (or rather, in the middle of no-where) so, it’s always lovely to head out to new places I have never explored before. It’s true to say that since starting working for The Wedding Affair I have been to the most pretty, and prestigious venues across Yorkshire and The North East.
Have you chosen your wedding venue yet? Or, perhaps you have already tied the knot; I would love to know where your all time favourite venue is!
And, whilst we are discussing all things pretty this got me thinking. Pinterest is the bride’s go-to place for wedding inspiration, right? Well, this time on a Monday morning I am usually rounding up trends, colours of the month, seasonal ideas etc. This morning however, I am doing something a little different. I’m simply going to type into Pinterest ‘wedding’ and collate all the rather gorgeous images into mood boards. I hope that makes sense. Fingers crossed it look’s somewhat good.
On with the pretty Pinterest finds…
Pinterest’s Beautiful Bouquets…
Do you know about Pinterest? If so, I’m guessing you are probably a little bit obsessed, if not – be prepared to become (very) obsessed. For the one’s who don’t already know what Pinterest is, it’s a rather lovely space of the interest to store all your gorgeous online inspirations. It’s perfect for collating all of your very own wedding idea’s. Think of it like a library of all things wedding, except better than a library (of course).
Our first board this morning is all about the bloomin’ beautiful bouquets. So, Pinterest seems to be the ideal place to look for all things floral. Yup, as soon as you hit the search bar every possible style of bouquet will come up, perfectly structured ones to wild, unduly ones. A bright pop of colour, or a more understated hue.
If you are seeking inspiration then Pinterest is 100% the place you should be. What’s your favourite style of bouquet?
Next onto the oh-so gorgeous gowns. Going shopping for your wedding dress is seen as one of the most exciting times of the wedding planing, many Bride’s have ]dreamt about it since they were little girls. Which is completely understandable, after all they are pretty darn gorgeous! Of course, going on the wedding dress hunt can can be rather daunting too. In a realistic world it can be both over and underwhelming, or basically just a whole bunch of emotions that you aren’t prepared for.
Our advice is to walk into a boutique open minded, try our gowns that you may not have even pictured yourself in and you may be presently surprised.
In our board below we do have some rather stunning finds. Pinterest does seem to be very good at selecting the rather Boho/Natural elegance style dresses, which admittedly I’m all for. However, the one thing that I didn’t like about searching down the hundreds of images is purely the fact, dare I say it; they are all very samey. It’s the gorgeous, perfectly posed models, sheer (very sheer!) dresses and the lack of ‘real brides’. Of course, in no way am I calling out on the models, but it would have been nicer to see some different styled dresses on real brides, rather than models.
What are your thoughts about wedding dresses on Pinterest?
It’s All In The Detail…
We are on complete flower overload today, and there really is no surprise when Pinterest magics up styling ideas like these below. It’s the ultimate place to find inspiration for all different styles, themes and colours of weddings.
Whether you are having an intimate affair and seeking idea’s for tablescapes. Or, simply just searching for some inspiration for a D.I.Y wedding. Pinterest can both point you in the right direction for some lovely talented suppliers and, handy guides on how to plan your wedding.
All Things Tasty…
OK, so now for out favourite mood board of the week. Not only does Pinterest show some rather gorgeous styling ideas, larger than life blooms and the most gorgeous dresses, but it is too something that can create some lightbulb moments for your menu too.
The thing that I undoubtably loved the most was the HUGE variety of different food and drink stations. I’m sure you will have all seen the extremely popular ‘Pimp Your Prosecco’ bars? Well it get’s a lot better than that! We are talking giant doughnut stations, build your own waffles, and create your own cocktails. It’s the ultimate foodie (and alcohol) heaven. A great way to both provide both entertainment and keep guests well fed and watered.
Oh, and before we forget, Pinterest gives you plenty of inspiration for Canapes too. Summer brides will find great inspiration for outdoor feats, BBQ’s and enough to keep guests happy during the reception.
