Monday Mood Board: A Parisian Chic Wedding… A Dreamy Destination Wedding
Good morning lovelies, how are you all today? Have any of you seen the extremely dreamy sneak peak images from Pippa and James’ wedding over the weekend? When I say dreamy, I really, really do mean it (insert (multiple) heart eyes). With wedding season now in full swing, it seems that my social media is a constant stream of wedding gorgeousness. Have you attended any weddings recently, or perhaps you are due to tie the knot soon? Do let us know in the comments below this post.
For our Monday Mood Board feature this week we are looking to all things Parisian. Of course, Paris is famed for it’s connotations of love, beautiful food, stunning architectures and every teeny single detail in between. I actually visited Paris back in January and completely fell in love with the city, I have been meaning to do a mood board dedicated to a Parisian wedding since.
Anyhow, today’s palettes are all about beautiful details, romantic colours and textures, too. We would love to know if you love todays feature by giving it a little share, or simply letting us know in the comments below.
The Florals… (and Cake)
So, surely everyone know’s that Paris for is famed for the finest foods, brasseries and of course, the most luxurious patisseries. Yes, Laduree we are talking about you. (If you are visiting Paris this Summer, a trip to Laduree is a MUST. Their Macaroons are lovely)
For couples with a real passion for fine food, a Parisian themed wedding could be just the road to go down. Why not create a menu or have a cake that represents the sophistication of French food? I have to say, that would be a wedding I would love to attend. We have some delicious, and rather beautiful idea’s for all things sweet at your vey own wedding in the board below.
Of course pastel colours are a firm favourite of ours. For a truly romantic, dreamy look mix up different shades of pink and add touches of gold for a little extra glam.
All For The Greenery…
This year, so far has been absolutely on point for styling, all things floral, and too not forgetting the Pantone colour of the year, Greenery. Unleash your inner stylist by choosing lush green foliage to style your reception, venue, or even a cute little car! (I mean, It would be rude not to.)
Paris not only is romantic, but equally just as stunning. The city is filled with beautiful botanic gardens and trees-a-plenty in the Summer months. So, choosing the Pantone colour of the year will compliment both the city and season, especially when choosing both the zesty shades with much darker evergreens for a luxurious touch.
If you are considering a wedding in Paris, you most definitely won’t be disappointed in the choice of venues to house such stunning styling. Choose from luxurious opulent palaces, a setting with a garden or terrace, a boat on the Seine or a gorgeous chateau.
We too, of course, could not forget that Paris is the fashion capital of France. It’s outstanding architecture and palaces aplenty house some of the worlds top fashion shows at Paris Fashion Week. Not to mention the luxury shopping centres, and streets and streets of luxury boutiques and top designers.
French women generally have an understated, effortless style about them that is just so right. And, trying to emulate it is difficult. The same cool, clean elegance in a French woman’s every day wardrobe can be found in their top wedding dress designers, too. Often boho, always modern, usually understated.
Using decadent embellishments, intricately beaded laces, soft pretty tulles and floating silk chiffons. At The Wedding Affair we love French wedding gowns, here are a few of our top designers: Rime Arodaky, Celistina Agostino and Delphine Manivet.
For wedding gowns near you take a look at these rather gorgeous boutiques over on our luxury directory.
We do hope you have liked this weeks mood board feature, are you planning on having a wedding in the oh-so lovely city Paris? Do let us know where and when!
Have a beautiful day x
