Monday Mood Board: Polka Dot Pretty
Oh, hello everyone! I do hope you’re feeling refreshed and relaxed after a couple of days off? To swiftly say ‘Buh Bye!’ to those Monday Morning blues we have a utterly pretty post today, filled with one of our favourite things, Polka Dots! With thanks to the return of all things spotty in recent months (including that Topshop dress!), we though we would show you just how you can recreate a fashion-forward Polka Dot wedding.
There’s something about a polka dot wedding which is just so feminine and utterly chic! Modern, yet vintage – the seriously sophisticated dot is a very stylish wedding choice indeed. Choose to add a subtle hint of polka dot pretty or inject a whole heap of polka dot fun into your wedding scheme, today’s post is all about the subtle, an totally stunning polka dot style. The polka dot pretty. Whether that’s a sheer veil with beautiful swiss dots, or layer upon layer of romantic tulle with a nude dotty overlay.
So, sit back with a cuppa’ in the sun as you feast your eyes on today’s dose of wedding loveliness.
Polka dots can be be fun, whimsical and playful when woven through your wedding decor and accessories. They work well with a variety of color combinations and patterns.
Remember, any bright colour will marry perfectly too, so whether you’re hosting a floral filled and golden hued Autumnal wedding or a joyous and pastel pretty Spring wedding; the subtle dot will pair pretty without being ‘too much’. This means that sheer overlays, veils or floating tulle skirts with polka dot on will be a oh-so perfect choice.
Pair with a delicate and dazzling pair of heels, a leafy headpiece or beautiful blooms woven through a boho hairstyle for a relaxed approach to your wedding. We promise this will make for a truly sublime wedding day look.

Stationery & Styling
A subtle polka dot is both sophisticated and delicate, this married with lush styling, the dress of dreams and trailing blooms can really make a stunning theme. Whether you are looking for a winter wedding in a stately setting surrounded by candelabra with opulent blooms, or a summer wedding in an Orangery, surrounded by greenery with the sun casting shadows through the leaves – stationery is key to giving your guests a glimpse of what’s to come!

Invite your most beloved to a wedding that they simply can’t refuse with chic and statement stationery, designed to wow at the very first glimpse. Gold and teal makes for an impressive and sophisticated colour choice, perfect for those tying the knot in the chillier months, whereas floral prettiness with pink detailing and a darker dot makes for a feminine (but totally chic!) vintage invite.
Oh, and our top tip to you is to hire a wonderful stationer to design your day. This will mean that everything from the very first save the dates, to the place cards, table plans and thank you’s will all match and continue your desired theme throughout the day. A styling essential, if you ask us!
We couldn’t forget the itty-bitty details, either! For this theme, you wedding cake would look gorgeous in a simple ivory, champagne or blush hue (whatever you see as fitting!) complete with iced dots and/or blooms.
Our favourite elements of this theme is the ‘less is more‘ look and we feel that a cake looking this gorgeous will make the perfect centrepiece. So, forgo the fuss and opt for an oh-so elegant cake design that represents you as a couple and your theme.
The one thing I also have not mentioned, is how fun polka dot weddings can be! Think pretty polka dot dresses for your maids, polka dot confetti, a fun pair of polka dot wedding shoes or even polka dot style décor and wedding accessories – straws, napkins, plates, table runners, bunting. And, don’t forget to coordinate your groom with a fun pair of polka dot socks, bow tie or other accessory…
