Lights, Camera, Action! It’s time for your moment in the spotlight.
Awards season is truly upon us. With the Baftas, Golden Globes, Tony Awards and, of course, the Oscars on the horizon, the stars of stage and screen are out in full force for their moment in the spotlight.
You may not be heading up the Oscar nominations list (much as we may wish we were!) but your time to shine is ready and waiting for you, as you take centre stage on your wedding day. This week, The Wedding Affair and WeddingHour’s Monday Moodboard shows you how to bring true Hollywood awards ceremony glamour to your big day.
Choose for black, white or gold to really bring the sparkle and glamour. Go for elegant sophistication with full length black bridesmaids’ gowns, or gold stilettos. You can even take inspiration directly from the red carpet (we love Amy Adam’s feather dress, as showcased on Marie Claire). Grooms can style it out in a white tux, or a suave 007 bow tie.
Celebrate in luxurious surroundings with a beautifuly-styled, glamorous reception venue. Why not go for bold, statement reds, taking styling tips from June Bug Weddings? Alternatively, you could make a nod to Art Deco with old-school Hollywood glamour (like the stylish couple on The Knot)? Of course, don’t forget to pop by The Wedding Affair’s Approved Supplier List to find the venue stylists who can bring the luxury to life.
Whatever your budget, you can showcase the glamour of Hollywood in smaller ways with a glittering cake and statement stationery. Go for gold and black drama with some chandelier stationery, as seen on Glamour.com, or make a statement with a black tie-inspired cake (take a look at those we spotted on Pinterest). Finally, bring the fun of the film industry by serving your guests little bags of popcorn to tuck into as they enjoy the speeches (a fantastic idea from Poptastic Bride!).
