Hit the right notes by building your wedding day around the music that brought you together.
Did you meet at a gig for your favourite band? Bond over your love for a particular artist? Fall in love when you played in the same band? Music is emotive, powerful, and incredibly romantic. And if a shared musical love has brought you together, then let this week’s Monday Moodboard inspire you to make it the theme for your wedding day.
We adore the idea of keeping the music to your first dance song close to your heart, and the sheet music buttonholes for the grooms do just that: we love the flower from Arabia Weddings. Brides: why not continue the piece on the sheet music that makes up your bouquet (we’ve been inspired by this one we spied on Green Bride Guide)? Making a style statement? Make the lyrics and music part of your dress, just like the beautiful bride we spotted on Pinterest. Or, for the subtler approach, have the words to your song running around your wedding shoes for a sentimental touch (just like this pair from Gemma Kenward Shoes).
Whether they’re the lyrics to your favourite song, names of your favourite bands, or the instruments that make up your band, musical names and phrases make fantastic table names. Why not display them on a CD-style seating plan, like this one from Not on the High Street, or use a record as the table centerpiece (look to One Lovely Day for inspiration). As a favour, give your guests a memory of your wedding day to treasure with a personalised soundtrack: we love this idea from Wedding O’Mania.
A musical favour might also be the edible kind, with this sentimental touch from Brides.com providing the perfect lyrics for a boxed-up sweet treat. We’re also huge fans of the music note cakes we found on Wedding Chicks and Cake Chooser: ideal for the pianists amongst you! Musical stationery looks beautiful arriving on the doormat of your guests, with the elegant sheet music style from Pinterest our personal favourite. Why not make the music on the invites the bridal entrance piece you’ve chosen to tempt your guests as to what to expect once the big day arrives?

Will your big day have a music theme? Have you named your tables after your favourite songs? Chosen confetti marked with the words to your song? We can’t wait for you to share your ideas with us at email@example.com.
