Monday Mood Board: Destination Wedding Inspo… A Gorgeous Wedding In Thailand
Hello lovelies, how are you all on this not so pretty Monday morning? What did you get up to over the weekend, wasn’t yesterday just gorgeous?! We had the BEST time at The UK Blog Awards on Friday evening, we spoke to some beautiful inspirational people from the blogging industry, and guess what? We won in the company weddings and event’s section too. Yup, you are now on an award winning blog. So crazy to think that I have only being blogging a year and I now have a UK Blog Award, eeek! Exciting times ahead.
Anyhow, whilst we try calm ourselves down, again. I am sending you some GORGEOUS inspo to get you through those Monday morning blues. We are releasing the inner wander lusts in us today as we are looking at all things that are Thailand wedding related. Destination weddings are becoming more and more popular by the year and Thailand for sure seems to be one destination that is a real stand out for Brides and Grooms.
Let’s explore why a Thai wedding could be for you…
Bloomin’ Gorgeous Flowers…
Thailand is a gorgeous location to have a wedding, and that’s all thanks to it’s pristine coastlines, crystal clear waters and the stunning resorts a plenty. Choose from luxurious 5 star beach hotels or hidden away locations on one of their idyllic islands. My favourite hotel I visited in Thailand was the Phulay Bay Ritz Carlton Resort, and it’s wedding packages were pretty special too. You could choose from a beach ceremony, one by the *massive* infinity pool or one of their many stunning restaurants.
As you can see below, we have thrown together some images that represent the much more feminine side to a wedding in Thailand, beautiful blooms in larger than life structures in contrast with a beachy backdrops make for something really pretty.
Having your wedding in Thailand will mean that you can work with pretty much a blank canvas, it’s a great way to release your inner stylist and come up with the most beautiful ceremony area.
Temples & All Things Cultural…
Not only is Thailand a stunning beach location, but it too is a country with many hidden gems. Travel up north of Thailand to find vast un-touched rainforests with ancient tribes and rural farming communities. Chaing Mai is another stunning location for weddings, and it is a huge change from the coastline of Thailand. In Chaing Mai you will find the most ancient Temples and mountainous areas with locations perfect for an intimate wedding. This is the perfect place to visit Elephant Sancturys, look at the white temples at Chaing Rai and go tracking for an action filled honeymoon after your wedding.
This part of Thailand will always hold a place in my heart because of it’s beauty, endless things to do and just the sheer beauty of the sights that surround the North. I even got my first tattoo from buddhist monks as a blessing, it’s called a Goa Yord and brings 9 different blessings, but I won’t bore you with the details.
Below I have come up with a mood board in which I feel represents this part of the country. We are talking beautiful sunsets, mountain retreats surrounded by lush rainforests and delectable cuisine.
It’s In The Detail…
Here in the UK it’s seen as easy to plan what to wear in a wedding; in winter you choose something that will keep you warm and in summer you prepare for the heat, yet still have your back up plan if it’s going to be chilly, you can never be too sure.
As for Thailand it’s a lot trickier; the heat is very, very humid therefore it can be hard to plan what to wear. Below, you can see an image from The Wedding Bliss in Thailand, I love their style and think it is very much appropriate for a wedding in this country. Think smart, relaxed, yet something that can stand the test of the humidity. I have read many reviews of the Rock Stud Valentino Shoes, they are meant to be very comfy, so why not invest in a pair of these to match your colour scheme? Of course, any excuse for Valentino goes…
P.S – Always carry a brolly with you in rainy season, sometime’s the rain showers can come from nowhere. They never tend to last more than few minutes to and hour though.

I can’t wait to plan my next journey to this stunning country so would love to hear all about your adventures too.
Have a lovely day x
