Monday Mood Board: Winter Metallic’s
Good morning, I do hope you all had a lovely weekend and got up to plenty of Christmas festivities, and of course, with some wedding planning added into the mix? Christmas is now only a few weeks away (eek!) and we are feeling just a little excited here at The Wedding Affair HQ, we have all had our fist mugs of mulled wine and sourced the Christmas markets for brand new Christmas tree decorations. Have you got yours up yet?
Anyway, for today’s Monday Mood Board feature we bring you even more Christmas goodness (we can’t get enough of it!). We are focusing on the metallic colours in weddings, and how you can incorporate it into your very own colour scheme! We all know that Christmas is for gorgeous, and extreme amounts of metallic colours. Everything from hanging lights, the festive Christmassy calligraphy that is now adoring the fire place, and of course, not forgetting the abundance of baubles! It’s a time to celebrate style and just have a fabulous time with friends and family!
Silver Inspired Winter Wedding…
I don’t think i have met anyone that doesn’t like the colour silver. It has connotations of being calming, pure and a very feminine colour. Of course, silver is best known as the metal (we all love a silver piece of jewellery). With this it also brings the fact that silver represents elegance and sophistication.
For today’s palette i have paired silver with lush green botanic’s, and crisp white detailing. I think that this really does show that silver is one of the more modern colours out of the metallic’s, however, it can easily be dressed down, or up! For example, take inspiration from the chic, diamond styled dress. Personally, I ADORE this, and in fact it would make a simply stunning bridal dress, or bridesmaid. What do you think?
For those seeking a traditional ‘White Wedding’ why not add a modern pop of colour by adding silver into the mix? It really does give a touch of understated, natural elegance.
P.S – Let’s talk about that invitation! have you ever seen anything like it? It’s fair to say that your guests will be amazed!
Gold Inspired Winter Wedding…
Next, the gold winter wedding inspiration… again an equally stunning colour! For this colour palette I have once again used botanics. As you can tell, I love them, but don’t they just look so, so beautiful paired with these colours? I have gone for less is more on this palette. Gold is one of them colours that you should use carefully, as too much can be over-powering.
Gold, is the colour of luxury, prestige and extravagance. So, why not just use subtle hints of it in your styling? Unlike silver, gold ads more of a touch of warm to styling – so, we are loving it paired with rich plums and darker greens for a much more opulent look to your day.
I would say this palette is definitely fit for a luxurious, slightly unique rustic wedding. It has all the loveliness of the woodland inspired details, yet these darker, much more luxurious colours really do make it unique and really special.
Of course, if you are looking for any prop hire or event stylists for an expert opinion, do take a look at The Wedding Affair approved supplier list. There all amazingly talented!
Copper/ Rose Gold Inspired Winter Wedding…
Finally, we come to a true Wedding Affair favourite. Over the years we have seen more, and more rose gold being featured in weddings. And, there is no surprise really. It’s simply stunning. Rose gold is a true trendy colour, and the best bit? It pairs wonderfully with so many different colour and styles.
From the dainty, modern candle jars, paired next to vintage velvet and rustic stone walls it looks fabulous, the contrast of the modern and vintage creates something truly unique. We are swooning over the modern, marble effect cake too!
Perhaps you are having a christmas wedding? Test yourself to make some of your very own fairy lights, it will bring a completely new element to D.I.Y weddings. Or, if you aren’t cut out to make them, simply invest in the lights from Not On The High Street. I think I will be too…
For our Monday Mood Board feature last week we focused on Nordic Chic wedding Styling, have you read it yet? We think that copper tones and brassy hues will pair perfectly. For those seeking a stunning, stylish wedding? We think that this colour could just be the perfect palette for you…
We would love to know your thoughts on these wedding colours, have you experimented with metallic’s at your wedding? Or, perhaps you have used an amazingly talented venue stylist? We would love to know any recommendations and ideas that you may have. Do let us know in the comments section below, or on social media! x
