Monday Mood Board: Nordic Chic Styled Winter Wedding…
Hello all, I do hope you’re all well this morning – what did you lovely bunch get up to over the past couple of days?
I think it is (finally) about time that we started on the winter inspired Mood Boards, after all it only is just over a till we reach November(!) Let’s face it: There’s boundless inspiration for spring, summer, and autumnal weddings, but one of the prettiest seasons is often overlooked. While, for some, the cooler months may be seen as a less desirable time to tie the knot, there are plenty of reasons why a winter wedding is just as beautiful as those summer weddings. We’re here to tell you why…
For brides, and grooms considering a lavish winter wedding, you’ll surely be inspired by this ever so stylish Nordic-chic palette!
Set the scene with a stunning Yurt, from Yorkshire Yurts. The Wedding Affair’s very own approved suppliers! Their unique yurts are all beautifully handcrafted in the UK with steam bent wooden lats, solid oak doors and a heavy grade natural canvas shell. It will provide the most perfect setting for your stylish Scandinavian wedding. Oh, and we are loving the simplistic yet elegant styling – Take a look at Yorkshire Yurts and see even more of their beautiful structures and oh-so pretty styling inspiration!
Take inspiration on this cold Monday morning from cool, clean, and, of course, very current Scandinavian styles. This most definitely is a hot trend for winter weddings right now, and all for a good reason.
For a fabulous colour palette fill your wedding with with icy blues, pastel pale pinks, and crisp winter whites. The shades of an Arctic sunset make for a truly inviting, yet unique palette, perfect for your big day! Take the idea one step further and select styles that feel reminiscent of a winter wonderland for your ceremony and reception. The soft, and subtle feminine colours will look gorgeous throughout your wedding. We are talking everything from the stationery, bridesmaids dresses and even the drinks! Who said a winter wedding just had to be white?
We are loving the darker botanical bold colours of these invitations (see below), for a more ethereal natural look! These paired with lovely foliage and pretty pastel blooms will go down a treat. Again, feat your eyes on the gorgeous bridesmaid dresses below! We are definitely swooning over the neutral soft tones, yet the sequins and jewels add a touch more glamour and definitely let off a festive party vibe. We’re certainly feeling all the heart eye’s, which dress is your favourite?
Florals and stationery, tick!
A lacy wedding dress with long sleeves, like this pretty pick from Suzanne Neville (Camelia Gown) feels just perfect for your winter nuptials. You’ll feel feminine and chic while still warm (we like to think) and comfortable. It’s a win, win! Dresses with jackets, hoods, and capes are extremely popular for winter weddings. Again, not only do they keep you warm whilst you are having your photographs. They look ever so stylish, so experiment with these bold, of-the-moment styles.

A Danish wreath cake is as striking as it is traditional, and it’s the perfect option for couples that want a non-traditional confection for dessert. Apparently if you lift the top layer of the cake and count the rings that stick to it, that’s the number of kids you’ll have! Something a little different from the traditional wedding – we’re certainly feeling the cake love.
