Monday Mood Board: Pantone Predictions
Good morning, lovelies! I hope you’re feeling good and that the weekend treated you well?
Also, just a quick but HUGE thank you to all of the beautiful brides and lovely grooms that visited us yesterday at Oulton Hall, we were absolutely inundated with you all and we had the best day. Of course, we couldn’t have done it without our massively talented suppliers – so, hat’s of to them too for providing us with plenty of pretty!
Talking of pretty things, on the blog today we’re looking to colour inspiaration for 2018, which in fact isn’t that long away at all (scary, right?!). And, whist we’re nervously awaiting the Pantone colour for 2018 we thought it would be a good idea to give all of you, our gorgeous readers a little insight as to the colours that we may be expecting to be making an impression in just a few months time. You’ll be sure that these colours are wedding worthy and a whole lotta’ pretty.
Pantone is undoubtably the company that nearly everyone turns to when it comes to color trends. Each year they pick a “color of the year,” which is certain to be hot in decorating, fashion and yes—event and wedding planning. This year, the choice was ‘Greenery’ – a crisp yellow-green shade that certainly didn’t disappoint, meaning that our standards are set extremely high for 2018.

First up on our list of top colours for 2018 is this dreamy hue…
With its gentle petal like touch, delicate and ethereal; Almost Mauve adds a sense of nostalgia to the Spring 2018 palette. Subtle and perfectly dusty, this barely-there color lends itself well to being layered with more masculine and deep tones. In fact, this colour is definitely a firm favourite for an all year-round colour. Burgundy flowers paired with this colour would go down a treat, and for spring, beautiful blushes make for an eye-catching bouquet.
What’s your opinions of ‘Almost Mauve’?

A fun loving, bubbly, bold and bright colour – Meadowlark definitely is making us wish it was summer right about now.
In other news, the pastel trend is starting to fade a bit, and bold colors are picking up steam. Therefore, anyone who is looking for modern options may think of jewel tones or other deep, dark shades. Alternatively, for a confident couple Meadowlark would make for a playful option to incorporate into your wedding day.
Add touches in your bouquet, little pops in stationery or even work with your food to create something as visually appetising as it tastes. Scatter a few lemons here and there, use colourful signature drinks and add colourful elements into salads to serve guests. There’ll certainly be no lack of Instagram posts at your wedding!

This colour’s got us feeling aaall the heart eye’s. Pretty in pink is an understatement for Spring Crocus.
Witty and expressive, Spring Crocus is a flamboyant and tantalizing fuchsia shade that is certainly not for those opting for an understated wedding colour. A little similar to Meadowlark, this colour is used best sparingly but with a stylish do that will really make the colour pop, but not look fussy in the slightest. Take a look below for some of our favourite idea’s using Spring Crocus.
Pst, that selfie station is another firm favourite!

A colour that The Wedding Affair of course are going to be in love with is Navy. Not only is it used in pretty much all of our branding, but it’s a classic colour that scream’s elegance and work’s well with just about any other colour. Make an ivory dress pop with navy bridesmaids dresses, use with blush and dusty hues to add more depth and rich tones or add delicate detailing with fine china and glassware to complete a tablescape.
Navy Peony is a colour that’s made in Pantone heaven that you certainly can’t go wrong with on your wedding day.
And, if you know me well, you’ll know i’m a total sucker for Peonies. So even just the fact that this is in the name mean’s i’m 100% sold!
