Monday Mood Board: May Wedding Inspo…
Pinch, Punch First Day Of The Month… I’ve always wondered why is it that people say that? Anyway, happy Monday loves! How are you all on this fine morning? I do hope you are treating yourself to a well-deserved lie in! I loovee these long weekends…
It may be a bank holiday but of course, we are still here bringing your weekly mood boards and inspiration. Today, it’s all about gorgeous trends and colours that we are crushing over this month and can’t wait to see as it progresses on! May is a hugely popular month to get wed in, not only is Pippa Middleton’s wedding taking place very, very soon (eekk!) but it also saw the likes of Kimmy K and Sarah Jessica Parker tie the knot too. And, there’s no surprise as to why this month is so popular when we saw temperatures rocket sky high last year into mid 20’s and, there is not just one but two bank holiday’s to take advantage of.
Hand’s up if you are saying your ‘I Do’s” this month?!
To start us off this morning we have the prettiest palette which includes aaalll the details. Take inspiration from a neutral colour scheme with plenty of understated, cool tones. It will tie together like an absolute dream, trust us.
By combining plenty of off-white hues, cream’s, blushes and blue’s you will automatically be creating an oh-so dreamy colour scheme. We are talking larger than life blooms, and everything down to the teeniest details such as table cloths and coloured jars.
Of course, this colour scheme wouldn’t be complete without plenty of the Pantone colour of the year added to the mix either. An uber cool way to do this? Accessorise your wedding reception with natural herbs such as sage and thyme, add cucumber/lime to your drinks. An easy, yet affordable way to not only style your reception styling, but your catering too.
Would you opt for this cool, chic and stunning theme to carry you into the hotter months of the year? It’s a yes from us…
Pretty In Pink…
Next, the pink! Now, this time of the year ultimately has to be my favourite for the sole purpose of the blossom trees blooming. Pretty sad I know, but not only does blossom provide a picture perfect Instagram image, it too looks gorgeous when incorporated into your wedding. Just imagine getting wed outside under the newly blossomed trees and the natural petal’s surrounding you? Sound’s pretty good, right?
Not only do the blossom tree’s come out, but it too is a time where everything becomes so much more colourful, larger and pretty darn gorgeous. Use this to your advantage and perhaps look at incorporating the outdoors in your wedding, whether you opt for a marquee, tipi, or even just take inspiration from the colours and flowers that May blesses us with. Pop’s of colour that look amazing with pink are corals, pinky-red’s and oranges.
Talk to your florist to see how they can give you lots, lots more inspiration for a beautiful wedding in May.
All Things Purple…
Finally, we are showcasing a board that is a little like the one above, but yet again it’s another colour which really represents this time of the year; Carnations, Hydrangea, Cosmos and Peony’s are just a few names of flowers which come in purple hue’s that look oh-so pretty for a late Spring or Summer wedding.
And, if purple isn’t your colour; remember, there are so many different variations of the colour that you don’t just have to stick with one primary shade. Talk to your florist on how you can add a little touch of lilac, or perhaps the darker colour of wine/ burgundy hues. The options are endless.
If you are looking for some more inspiration on a purple wedding, we have a gorgeous shoot that we know you will love. A few The Wedding Affair approved suppliers got together, with an added pop of purple with a little bit of sparkle and sun, they created something really magical – the perfect idea for a wedding in the country.
We do hope you have loved today’s mood board on beautiful inspiration for May weddings. As always, we would love to know your thoughts. Perhaps you are getting married this month and would love to share what colours you are incorporating into your day, or even share some tip’s for tying the knot this time of the year? Do let us know in the comments section below lovelies…
P.S – Enjoy the rest of your bank holiday weekend xxx
