Monday Mood Board: Summer Ceremony Crushes…
Hello lovely people. It seems that June has turned into October, what is with this weather at the moment? One minute it’s pouring down, the next it’s gale force winds. Anyhow, I do hope that you had a beautiful weekend and you were blessed with at least a tiny bit of sunshine, wherever you may have been.
This morning, we are looking into ceremony decor we are crushing over this year. Be it an intimate ceremony on the beach, an outgoing festival wedding in the Yorkshire dales or, an elegant affair in an enchanted castle.
The possibilities for weddings are endless, and your ceremony may be at the forefront of your mind. With Summer almost upon us, and wedding season well underway (where please is this year disappearing to?) it’s time to start thinking about ways to style a Summer wedding ceremony.
If you are struggling to come up with ideas take a look at our selection of pretty finds below.
What would your ideal ceremony styling be?
Let’s Go To The Beach, Beach…
There’s nothing quite like a beach wedding; the sand beneath your toes, the relaxing sound of waves subsiding and of course, not forgetting the rather dreamy back drop for all of your photographs. A beach ceremony whether it be in warmer climates abroad or a sandy spot closer to home is guaranteed to look pretty darn good, no matter what styling you opt for.
However, if your inner stylist is screaming go all out, then do it! A beach wedding is the perfect blank canvas to go over the top on flowers, picking out simplistic or rustic furniture and pair with understated colours for a romantic and oh-so elegant look. It’s giving us all the heat eye feels.
I’m sure you will agree as to why so many people choose to get wed abroad when you can have both scenery and styling like this. Oh, and some decent weather, too.
So, whether you are saying your vows on the crystal white sands of a beach or over looking the picturesque sea. The options are endless and too give both that intimacy that many desire.
A Wedding In The Country…
Yet another picturesque option (after all, every wedding is, right?). We love that when wedding season comes around everywhere is filled with extra pretty details; Tipi’s, Marquees and dainty back gardens can be transformed into the most beautiful wedding spaces. In the summer months, take advantage of the (fingers crossed) rising temperatures and take your ceremony outdoors.
Below in the mood board we have some real backyard bridal bliss, perfect for your wedding out in the countryside. From lush ceremony arches to rustic family-style seating. Use bright pops of colours; keep it relaxed, used mixed blooms and texture, and most importantly, have fun with the shape of the display.
For a minimalist look, include small accents into your styling – we love the idea of introducing cacti and succulents, too. For a laid back vibe mix in floor cushions and other low seating options to keep the atmosphere intimate and fun. Remember, have fun with this style, it’s all about mixing colour, texture, shape and height – flowing and natural rather than preened and precise.
This look is elegant and chic. Of course, Summer unfortunately isn’t always joyous cocktail weather, in this instance please don’t be disheartened. Many couples opt for indoor ceremonies and guess what, they are just as gorgeous. If you are opting for an opulent castle or stately home, their high ceilings and decorative features already provide for some statement styling and picture opportunities.
Where better to exchange vows than in a venue that really is personal to the two of you? So, why forgo the styling?
If you are seeking some rather gorgeous wedding venue inspiration, take a speedy look at The Wedding Affair’s directory. We have just had a teeny revamp of the website and it looks even more beautiful than it did before. On the directory you will be able to search under categories you want/love and in different area’s too. I will warn you that It may be hard to pick just one though!
Anyway, gorgeous venues lead to endless styling possibilities. Take a look at a few of our favourites below…
