Luxury Honeymoon at Phulay Bay, A Ritz Carlton Reserve…
For this years holiday i was lucky enough to be able to spend 2 (extremely busy) weeks exploring, my now favourite place, Thailand. After many early mornings of flights and travelling across what felt like the whole of Thailand; from Bankgkok, to Chaing Mai, across to Ko Phi Phi island, then Krabi… before heading down to Signapore, to then get a flight back to Bangkok. I cant say it was the most relaxing holiday ever, but 100% one of the best experiences I have ever had, and I would most definitely love to repeat.
Thailand is located in South East Asia, and is well known for its opulent royal palaces, ancient ruins, sacred ornate temples and of course its white sands and crystal blue sea’s. Making it increasingly popular for newly weds to choose as their first choice as a honey moon destination. Whether your idea of passion is found on a tropical beach, spotting out Buddhist temples or island hopping, there will most definitely be something for the two of you to enjoy.
A Little About Krabi…
Krabi is a popular beach destination in Southern Thailand with Ao Nang being one of the most popular areas with developed, modern accommodation options available. Surround yourself with white sandy beaches, crystal clear water, caves and waterfalls on your Krabi honeymoon.
The best time to visit Krabi is between November and April when the climate is less hot than usual and the island gets a lot of dry North Easterly winds, providing you with dry blue skies and starry nights.
A diver’s paradise, Krabi is the ideal honeymoon destination with vibrant coral reefs and active marine life, for couples searching for some adventure on their Krabi honeymoon, the colossal limestone rocks are a popular location for rock climbing.
Honeymoons At Phulay Bay…
Whilst in Krabi we stayed at Phulay Bay. Phulay Bay is also a Ritz Carlton Reserve, so it was (as you can expect) absolutely stunning and the service that we received was second to none. We stayed here for a two nights as a treat, and to be able to unwind, after what was a very busy holiday away. You may have seen or heard of Phulay Bay as the luxurious resort in the movie “The Hangover 2” (Where the wedding takes place)
Phulay Bay is set on the shores of the Andaman sea, surrounded by virgin rain forest’s, breath taking untouched landscapes and the crystal blue sea. Virtually invisible to any tourist life, as well the hustle and bustle of every day occurrences, this resort would be ideal for those who are seeking intimacy for their honeymoon. With Phulay Bay only being a 54 villa resort it makes for the perfect romantic get away. The resort literally feels like you are in your own secluded paradise. Be greeted by the friendly hotel staff with welcome drinks, cool towels and a traditional Thai blessing (Orchid Bracelet) whilst you take in the beautiful contemporary designs that the resort has to offer.
The facilities are something else… its like living in your own little village, you completely forget that you are actually in a hotel. For starters, upon entering your villa your own butler will show you around your rooms and the grounds (yes you even get your own 24 hour butler!)
There are 7 villa types available at Phulay Bay, each with all the luxurious amenities you would expect at a five-star property and much more. The villa that we had was the reserve pavilion villa, and it was absolutely gorgeous (i can only dream about what the honey moon and bridal villa’s were like!) You get a two king size beds together (yes two!) a low sunken marble bath tub, an outdoor bath, walk in wardrobe, dining area and finally, a balcony over looking the beautiful tropical gardens. All designed beautifully in contemporary colours but traditional designs.
You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining at Phulay Bay with an array of tantalising cuisines on offer from casual to formal dining, whatever your style during your honeymoon Phulay Bay has just the thing and of course, the food is absolutely delicious.
The sunset lounge (Chomtawan) would be the perfect place to spend time unwinding with your loved one after your busy wedding. Enjoy a lovely Mojito, or two, whist watching the gorgeous Thai sunset rest over the Andaman sea, the tiny islands and Phuket.
Phulay Bay offers ‘Dining Beyond’, where you can design your own culinary adventure, whether it be a barbecue on the beach, a romantic sunset dinner on the beach or an intimate picnic for just the two of you – its a must do during your honeymoon at Phulay Bay.
Phulay Bay would be the ideal resort for you if you are wanting a destination which will give you both that all important relaxation time after celebrating the most important day of your life, and also the choice to be able to explore what Thailand has to offer.
For couples searching for adventure, jump on a complimentary longboat transfer to the beautiful Hong Island – ideal for a bit of exploring and a romantic picnic (or topping up that tan of course!) If you’re feeling energetic, there is kayaking on offer, as well as snorkelling, scuba diving, rock climbing. With Phulay Bay being located on the Tab Kak Hang Nak Hill nature trail and the Khao Phanom Bencha National Park you can be sure that there is plenty to do.
Another must-do on your honeymoon is a day visit to Koh Phi Phi island – Maya Bay, where the famous Leonardo Dicaprio film ‘The Beach’ was filmed. Also don’t forget to squeeze in an elephant trek to top off your honeymoon!
However if you were not wanting to leave the resort (completely understandable!) Well don’t worry, Phulay Bay put together a weekly timetable. Anything from activities such as yoga and meditation on the beach, to cooking classes and learning to speak Thai. Or simply you may just want to relax next to the pool and indulge in a few spa treatment’s
