Monday Mood Board: The Wedding Affair’s Styling Fix For June…
Good morning lovelies. I do hope you all had the most wonderful weekend? I still can’t really believe it is June. How is this year going by so quickly? It seems Christmas was only 2 weeks ago and now we are amidst wedding season. Anyhow, to banish away any Monday morning blues today, we have a blog filled with blooms a plenty, statement styling and all the wedding gorgeousness you will need to start of your summer in style. We are filling this pretty post with everything that we are loving for the month ahead.
Do you have anything that is inspiring you this month; any themes or trends that you are showing in your own wedding, perhaps? I would love, love, love to know.
I guess there is something about summer wedding’s that makes it hard to select a theme, besides a garden or beach or of course, the ever popular ‘Festival’ wedding trend. If you too, are struggling for idea’s don’t worry, try selecting colours you love or opt for a chic understated palette. There is no set rule that you need a theme.
Take inspiration from today’s mood board with different palettes of colours and ideas. You can also take a look back on some of out older mood board’s for different pointers for other seasons.
An Enchanted Botanic Wonderland…
Take inspiration from Pippa Middleton’s and James Matthews lavish reception that they held in a glass marquee (I mean, how dreamy!?). Their wedding was filled top to toe with larger than life blooms, beautiful blossom tree’s, hanging garlands and blush accents. This created a real wedding wonderland that you could use to inspire your wedding.
June offers a bright and energised palette and you can easily use this to your advantage. Here however, we are looking to all things botanical. The Pantone colour of the year plays with zesty shades to create a cool, collected and refreshing scheme where evergreens are a must for your wedding day styling.
Create your very own wedding wonderland with large hanging displays, sprigs of herbs, hanging chandeliers and beautifully designed stationery to compliment.
Pretty In Pink…
Like I touched upon above, this time of the year you will find many bright and vivid flowers for you to choose your pick from. Contemporary picks include orange and fuchsia, green and hot pink. Of course, pink is an all time favourite of ours.
To be honest, pink works well as a wedding colour scheme no matter what time of year you choose to tie the knot and can easily be teamed up with numerous other colours. For example, in the mood board below you will find different hues of purple, lighter and darker pinks, greenery and off-whites. These colours will tie together and create a scheme that complements each other and look oh-so romantic, we say less is more in this instance. Dreamy…
For the best bunch of flowers why not talk to your florist about working with some of these flowers; Peonies, Roses, Hydrangea, Camellia and Cosmo’s? Finished off and tied together with a ribbon is the best way to create an understated and chic impression.
And for the DIY bride, why not take a trip to the flower market and dry out some flowers to make some pretty in pink confetti?
Who ever said pink was ‘tacky, after all?
Pastel Picture Perfect…
Of course, if pastels are your kind of thing, then they are a must for your summer wedding. These lovely romantic colours pair up great together with just about any wedding; whether you are throwing a lavish affair in a grand stately home or, having a Festival inspired day amidst the rolling hills of Yorkshire. I’m sure these hues beneath will make you come up with any excuse to include pretty pastels.
The absolute beauty of having a wedding incorporating pastels is being able to be as creative as you like, with a huge variety of different colours to play around with too. For your festival wedding, create rustic charm with sprigs of lavender here and there or, create simplistic elegance with large blooms complete with plenty of foliage for a stunning stately home wedding.
To incorporate even more of these delicate colours into your wedding aside from the flowers, why not try on some blush wedding dresses, choose cloudy lemonade for the tables and have a dessert table with a selection of treats to match your wedding colours?
