The Beauty Bible: Step into Spring with Jennifer Jane, Professional Makeup Artist
Hello, bride beauties! We’re delighted to welcome you back to our pretty little corner of the internet for our weekly ‘Beauty Bible’ feature. We’re also thrilled to welcome back Jennifer Jane, a HUGLELY talented and professional Makeup artist to talk all about Spring and Summer bridal beauty trends.
Jenn says; “Deciding on a makeup look for your wedding day can prove to be a somewhat daunting task. Do you go for what you always do, as you ‘don’t really wear that much makeup’ or do you look towards the trends and opt for something a little different?
As a Makeup Artist, I always need to keep an eye on the trends and be up to speed with all the current looks and products but it doesn’t necessarily mean that I, or you, have to abide by them. While we all want to look classically beautiful on our big day, these trends can be incorporated in a subtle way to ensure you still look naturally chic and most importantly, like you!”
Spring/Summer bridal beauty trends:
“About 90% of my brides request a natural and glowing complexion which is a top look for 2018. You don’t have to go all out, as some Instagram looks would suggest, but can opt for something more subtle and pearly. With the correct placement of product on the cheekbones and inner corners of the eyes you can get your glow on in no time at all, and it looks fabulous in photographs! If you are after something a little more defined, then choose a more golden bronze product, however, this may be a better option for summer weddings (and a sun tan)”

“More brides have been requesting a bold lip this year rather than the usual classic nude and this is a direct nod to the catwalks at Bridal Fashion Week. From beautiful berry tones to bright rich reds, you really can put your own stamp on it as long as it pops.”

Big Beautiful Brows
“Big brows are making a come back this season – think Brooke Shields or Cara Delevingne . Add some depth and dimension to your bridal beauty look by stepping up your brow game, although go steady, as you don’t want then to take over your face! Gently fill in the brow to create shape and texture with a pencil, then a light application of powder over the top and off you go!”

Go for Gold!
“Gold had a huge presence at Bridal Fashion Week and is set to be a big thing for 2018, not only on the makeup front but also for wedding design and decor. Add a swash of gold to your lids for a luxurious feel or dare to don some golden hair adornments for something a little bit different.”
