The Beauty Bible: Lipstick of the Month
Hello, how are you all on this Friday morn? Just in time for the weekend, Friday beckons for our weekly ‘Beauty Bible’ feature; a collation of all things pretty, makeup reviews and of course too, not forgetting our ‘Lipstick of the Month feature’. We love helping you get your glammed up weekend feeling and assisting Bride (and Groom) to-be’s find precious advice and products for your dream day.
So without further adu, let’s delve into this month’s favourite lipstick, as chosen by The Wedding Affair – Introducing the rather lovely Liptensity Lipstick by Mac Cosmetics, in Smoked Almond; A Lipstick with enhanced amounts of pigment for extreme colour intensity, and a name that just conjures up all things Autumnal.

The muted fiery shade, Smoked Almond has not gotten a negative rating (but then again, there’s hardly any for the entire range of lush lippies) and it is not hard to understand why. This gorgeous Autumnal hue certainly has a lot to give.
First of all, the colour is absolutely flattering on fair and medium skin tones. Smoked Almond just complements paler skin tone perrr-fectly, which if you ask us – is a pretty rare find!
With a little tug, this bright rosebrown goes on creamy and pigmented on the lips and leaves a luscious shine. It applies like a Matte due to its thick consistency but has a soft Satin finish. Moisturing with an emollient effect, Smoked Almond doesn’t settle into lip lines and you don’t have to worry about longevity, this lip colour stays put a rather generous 8 hours!

The lipsticks glide on creamily and are extremely long-lasting. Of course, we’d expect this kind of staying power to come with a cost, dry lips and a hefty price tag. But all things considered, the formula is not very drying at all and will set you back by just £18.
Our top tip to you is to just make sure to exfoliate and apply a good lip balm overnight for extra moisture. The Liptensity formula however, is undoubtably is the best possible version of long-wearing lipstick.
The bonanza of 18 permanent matching lip pencils (excuse me while I swoon) is almost too much for this Liptensity lover to take. You read that correctly, 18 colors of MAC Liptensity Lip Pencil. The liner has a slanted, chiseled tip that is extremely precise—so easy to use! The colors are vivid and long lasting. Wedding perfect, right?
