Monday Mood Board: A Sparkling Gold & Navy Colour Scheme
Good morning from our little pretty corner of the internet! I hope you all had a beautiful weekend, gosh, I’m *so* ready for Christmas, are you? Although, the dreaded Christmas shopping is looming over me.
With all things Christmassy in mind, we’re sure that this morning’s ‘Monday Mood Board’ feature will get you even more-so in the festive mood. Still looking for the right colour scheme for your wedding? We’ve got a classic idea for you: gold and navy blue. We’ll be featuring glistening golds, metallic sparkling ribbons, candelabra and a classic colour choice that is Navy (of course, it’s a top staple colour for The Wedding Affair, too) in the feature today.
So, without further ado, we’ll get straight on with the pretty…

Set The Scene
Set the scene to your lavish winter with stationery adorned with beautiful calligraphy, high quality papers, prints and pretty.
By no means does navy ever mean ‘safe’ when you’re coming up with glamorous twists, statement styling idea’s, fashionable pieces, and, let’s not forget how dapper every man looks in a classic tailored navy suit (see above)! Here are some more beautiful ways to combine gold and navy to create a stunning yet classic wedding look for your big day!
Plus, we’re saying “yes, please” to Hydrangea place settings and fine china plates – a beautiful way to bulk out table decorations and add that little bit of colour into your theme. Complete your settings with luxe gold candles, little details and the stationery to match the rest of your beautiful day.

Understated blooms are a firm favourite of The Welding Affairs – I mean, they still could be larger than life, flamboyant and glamorous, however, to really make the Navy and Gold colour’s pop in this scheme, you can’t go wrong with the classic choice of white flowers with plenty of foliage and evergreens thrown in. Statement styling, stripped back, but still a chic idea to really make your colours pop.

Navy is a classic choice for bridesmaids, the colour just looks so gorgeous on many skin tones (Hello, pale girls – this colour will even suit you!), and next to practically any colour wedding dress, makes the colour pop even more so. We’re loving the subtle sequins, touch of glamour and Gatsby vibe that these dresses are all about (see below) – a little different to your usual ‘run of the mill’ gown and oh-so perfect paired with a winter wedding.
Oh, and we had to include a sparkling pair of our favourite shoes. Add a touch of gold to the outfits by choosing different pairs of shoes to complete their looks – if you’re feeling generous, a pair of Valentino Rockstuds would go down an absolute treat! Or, you could just save them for your very own look – they pair pretty with any colour wedding dress, too.

Gold has long been associated with luxury (for obvious reasons), and what more luxurious occasion is there than your winter wedding? Gold candelabras, plate chargers, and metallic sparkling, or velvet ribbons around your flowers would surely transform any venue to a palace for your special day.
Hanging lanterns, fairy lights, candles and sparkler send off’s are also twinkling ways to carry that gold throughout the day, but in more subtle ways – they all will also create a warm and loving environment for you to spend some of the best memories dancing away, eating and catching up with loved ones.
To contrast with all that shimmer, navy blue is a classic combination to use as your “neutral” for balance. Navy blue tablecloths, paper suites in navy with gold script, and navy candles in your gold candelabras – and cake, you can’t forget the cake!
