Cocktail Of The Month: A Gorgeous Garden Gin Cocktail
Hello gorgeous ones, how are you all this Tuesday morn? I come today with our all time favourite feature, ‘Cocktail Of The Month’ and I promise you that this months is nothing short of delicious either. In fact, I think that we all deserve one of these beauties after the weather that we experienced over the past week. Oh, and not to mention that this cocktail it’s totally wedding worthy, a firm favourite and so, so easy! Actually skip that, this one is perfect for any occasion.
The world is coming back to life after a cold winter, and the perfect way to celebrate is with this riff on a classic Gin & Tonic. The traditional ingredients are given a springy lift from a lavender syrup, and it’s served with basil and lemon for a refreshing aftertaste. Delish!
Gin is the reigning spirit champion of spring and summer for many good reasons; it’s light, botanical and blends easily with a million-zillion juices, sodas and… well, pretty much anything. From the sweet and simple to the sublime and complex, this libation will keep you calm and collected and guests happy on your sensational spring-time wedding.

Introducing the ‘Garden Gin & Tonic”
This tantalising tipple is inspired by the very herbs you have growing in your garden and the tasty fruits that are in season. The sumptuous lavender simple syrup in this drink is irresistible and perfectly compliments the herbal notes from both the basil and the gin.
Quite simply, this tastes like a glass full of summer and is just the refreshment needed on a Spring afternoon. It’s Herbal and refreshing, this cocktail celebrates the flavours of a summer garden. It’s also quick and easy to make up, so if you are having a few guests, this can be made up in next to no time.
Ingredients To Make 1
- 45ml gin
- 15ml Martini Bianco
- 160ml lavender simple syrup
- Squirt of fresh lemon juice
- 2-3 basil leaves, muddled
- Healthy dash peach bitters
- Lots of ice
- Tonic Water (desired flavour is up to you)
- 340ml water
- 340g sugar
- 3 Tbsp dried culinary lavender
To create the lavender simple syrup: In a medium saucepan combine sugar and water to make a syrup. Bring to a boil, stirring, until sugar has dissolved. Next, allow the mixture to cool then add the lavender.
Refrigerate overnight then strain out lavender buds. Store in fridge.
To create the cocktail: In a tall glass, muddle the basil leaves. Next, add gin, Martini Bianco, lavender syrup, lemon juice and peach bitters to the glass with basil leaves.
Then fill your glass with ice cubes and top with the tonic until the glass is full for a delicious drink. Decorate as pretty as you’d like and enjoy!
