Monday Mood Board: A Fun & Flirty Tropical Wedding
Styling – Fun & Colourful…
This tropical theme can be styled to your hearts content. Why not skip the traditions and truly make it your own with prop hire, fruit, hanging garlands and suspended leaves to create a gorgeous tropical paradise.
Think palm leaves, cacti, flamingos and pineapples. And LOT’S of them, too.
Start your colour palette of the right way with shades of pink, punchy peach and zesty green’s (Hello, Pantone colour of the year…) to reflect the jungle leaves and the vibrant tropical birds. Decorations could include fresh whole fruits such as, Lemons, Limes, Bananas, Pineapples, Oranges, Watermelon and other tropical fruits incorporated with trailing greenery and vines.
Why not as your Florist to create garlands of leaves to suspend around the venue? Or for the D.I.Y couple create faux garlands using fake flowers, paper cut outs and plenty of colour?
Fashion Forward – Bride & Groom
I guess this is all really down to personal preference and whatever you feel suit’s you best (after-all it is your day). However, we do have some rather dreamy idea’s below for the fashion-forward couple.
Think separates – at The Wedding Affair we have a major crush over bridal separates. They’re fun, fashionable and pretty darn gorgeous, too. Build your own look by mixing & matching bridal separates to create something truly unique. Of course, our all time favourite separates designer has to be Charlotte Balbier. Head to our *newly improved* website to find stockists of these oh-so dreamy pieces.
Oh, and we couldn’t forget the groom. Accessorise his favourite suit with a buttonhole that too represents a tropical wedding, succulents and bright dainty flowers are always a good idea, right? Replicate on all of the Groom’s party with a different coloured flower for an even more colourful occasion.
Sweet Treats & Cocktails…
To complete this theme we are thinking a cake to match, dessert tables, signature cocktails and plenty of decorations that double up as favours. Choose easy going food to fill guests up. A BBQ, buffet or picnic style food would work fabulously with this theme.
To keep guests cool during your summer wedding have Ice buckets filled with of beer (or your choice of drink) and brightly coloured ice pops. Along with this, ask your caterers to put together some signature cocktails; a Piña Colada, Mojito or Daiquiri would go down a treat amongst friends and family. What would your tipple of choice be?
And talking of treats, swap the cupcakes for an ice cream buffet with coconut, run and tropical fruit sorbets and your guests will be Wowed. If you were still wanting to stick with a cake, why not opt for a naked one adorned with bright flowers and fresh fruits?
