Emily & Jonathan: An Enchanting & Romantic Wedding at Newton Hall
Hey, gorgeous ones! This year is whizzing by and we’re struggling to keep up. How please, is it that we’re nearing the end of June already?
With late Spring and early Summer weddings in full swing, we’re looking to today’s most beautiful real wedding to inspire us for sunny days ahead spent in idyllic settings. Cue a delicate lace dress, lush greenery, opulent white blooms and the most picturesque setting for Emily and Jonathan’s romantic Newton Hall Wedding that took place on the 20th of May 2017.
The couple’s gorgeous day was captured by the oh-so talented Helen Warner who photographed the effortless beauty of the moments that unfolded in a light and dreamy way, providing memories that I’m sure Emily and Jonathan will cherish forever.
Let’s find out a little more from the wedding that’s made of dreams…
How did you and your partner meet and what about the proposal?
“Hilariously through my mother! She was a client of Jonathan’s business. It (the proposal) was incredibly low key – in the garden of the Goring Hotel, London.”
Emily had her heart set on a traditional British designer for her wedding gown and in fact, it didn’t take the Bride-to-be long to find her gown at all!
Emily says… “I knew I wanted a Temperley London dress as I love her quintessentially British aesthetic. I only actually tried on around 5 dresses and I knew I’d found the perfect one when my grandmother got so emotional!”
She also added, “A wedding is one day, marriage is eternal! You can always wear the dress to hoover the house…”
Emily teamed her wedding day look together with a delicate pair of sliver Jimmy Choo’s and her veil and bridal accessories were sourced from Clifford Burr, who also stocks a sublime selection of bridal gowns and bridesmaids.
Emily purchased her jewellery from Loveon Jewellery, an online boutique that specialises in providing high-quality and dazzling pieces.
This lovely bride opted for a totally natural makeup look courtesy of Charlotte Kavanagh to pair pretty with her romantic wedding. We adore it when brides keep their makeup true to themselves; remember, your makeup should make you feel confident and the very best version of yourself.
Emily’s hair was styled into an elegant look that framed her face perfectly, with thanks to the talented Jo Morden Hair Design.
Emily’s advice for creating and maintaining a strong relationship is one that we whole heartedly agree with,
“Building trust through being honest, and not being afraid to speak your mind – you have to be comfortable being yourself as you’re going to be spending a lot of time together!”
The church, St George’s in Anstey was looking beautiful with delicate white florals and little hints of greenery, which was styled by Through The Looking Glass Flowers. I’m sure you will agree that they married perfectly with the Bride’s lace veil, as she floated down the aisle to meet her love and soon to be husband, Jonathan.
The couple envisioned a “Traditional and ethereal” day which it certainly was, everything perfectly complimented each other and the idyllic settings provided lush photographs and memories, as showcased today.
The Bridesmaids gowns were from Ghost, a supplier that we have had the pleasure of working with in the past. Emily’s favourite ladies don different styled dresses to suit their own styles, yet in the same pretty pastel green hue.
What was your favorite moment from the day?
“Gosh I honestly couldn’t tell you! Was all so magical.”
Jonathan sported a sharp wedding day look with his suit and tailcoat from the prestigious Chimney Suit Hire.
The breathtaking reception blooms were designed by Through The Looking Glass Flowers.
We asked Emily if there were any DIY decor elements…
“I wish I could take credit for all of it, but in the professionals, I trust! So, no, they expertly made my vision a beautiful reality.”
Emily and Jonathan entrusted the most talented team of suppliers that turned their dream wedding vision into a reality. Adorn Invitations were in charge of the on-the-day stationery with and elegant array of menus and place cards, where as BWedding Invitations gave the couples friends and family a taster as to what to expect on the day.
We asked Emily and Jonathan if they had any tips for other Brides and Grooms planning their wedding;
“Ensure you’re working with a fantastic caterer, and enjoy each moment!”
The delicious catering on the day was supplied by Carte Blanche Catering who deliver a truly bespoke service, aimed at inspiring with fresh, innovative ideas and served with flair.
The delicate, lace and floral inspired cake was baked by the wonderful Emily Jane Cakes, who’s work is simply divine. Not to mention delicious!
If you could do it all over again, what would you change?
“Nothing! The day was just perfect, all I wish for is to have been able to enjoy it for longer. The day just went by sooo quick!”
As we draw to a close on this ethereal and simply sublime wedding, we would just like to say a little thank you to the couple, Emily and Jonathan for letting us share your very special wedding day. We’ve honestly loved reading about the pretty goings on at Newton Hall and from the suppliers that helped turn your vision into a reality. With love from The Wedding Affair, we would like to wish you a wonderful future, and a healthy and happy marriage filled with joy.
