Ellena & Adrian
Hello, fellow readers and to all of the pretty people planning their own wedding. Today we’re sharing the delightful day of Ellena and Adrian, who tied the knot at The Tea Room, Queen Victoria Building, picturing a timeless, classic and vintage-inspired wedding. We have certainly fallen head-over-heels for the pairs special day, how they dedicated so much to their love for music and kept it true to just the two of them. Just how every wedding should be, right? Honest, lovely and a true representation of the two that are exchanging their vows.
Let us transport you back to their day with some more details from bride, Ellena. Beautifully captured moments from photographer, Clover Image and a touching video of the two on one of their most important days, by In A Maze.
The two met on Oasis, an online dating site back in 2012 and met for their first date at Darling Harbor. When Adrian proposed he started off the night at the same place they had their first date then got down on one knee at the Opera House.
“We chatted online via Oasis back in 2012 and decided to meet for a date at Darling Harbor. Adrian proposed with a trip around the city, visiting lots of our favourite spots. We started at the place of our first date and ended on the steps of at the Opera House at sunset where he got down on one knee.”
I guess, the rest as they say is history.
Although marriage is a time for new beginnings, Ellena and Adrian told us that their top tip for a happy and healthy marriage is to always communicate.
“Always communicate your needs and wants and listen to your partner when they tell you theirs.”
Bride, Ellena, chose her wedding gown after visiting a few different stores “and the one just felt right!” I’m sure you will agree, her dress certainly makes her look the most beautiful bride and compliments the timeless and chic feel that their overall wedding day had. Ellena brought her dream dress from Brides of Beecroft, a design called Anna by bridal designer, Augusta Jones.
The dress, as described as a “A timeless classic. A boatneck lace gown, lace back detail with train. This gown can be ordered either sleeveless or with any length sleeve.” Ellena opted for the sleeveless version for her special wedding day.
Ellena’s look was completed with some delicate blooms for her perfectly curled hair, a flowing flowing-floor length veil and a bolero. Her beautiful blue shoes were from Wittner.
We adored the brides pretty hair and make-up, professionally designed and styled by Liv Lundelius.
As mentioned earlier, the couple envisaged a classic and vintage themed day, taking inspiration from pretty little pops of pastel in their wedding venue The Tea Room, Queen Victoria Building. The flowers are some of the most beautiful I have seen in a long, long time; featuring succulents, foliage, roses and plenty of delicate little touches. To finish off, the blooms were all tied together in a ribbon that complimented the colour scheme.
Their choice of florist, Aleksandra has been a botanical artist for over ten years, co-creating with nature to create unique, creative and bespoke floral experiences.
Her maids’ gowns were sourced from Forever New in colours that complimented each and every other in their colour scheme, pretty in pink an dainty diamonds are certainly a match made in heaven when it comes to bridesmaids gowns
Ooh, and a Tiffany & Co wedding ring is an essential for a flower-loving bride, we adore how the different designs compliment the couple and their wedding day.
Other bridal accessories, Ellena sourced from Loveon Jewellery.
Ellena told us her favourite part of the day was the ceremony kiss and there’s no surprise really, when the two finally got around to what they have being planning for months or even years. We’re sure they will forever treasure the precious images that Clover Image captured as their first photographs as man and wife. It takes true talent to tell the story of someones wedding through photography and precious memories.
The groom, Adrian’s suit was from Ferarri Formal Wear, the home to contemporary, fashion right and affordable suiting for men. They offer Suits from leading designers such as Zenetti and Daniel Hechter.
The navy and blue hues suited the bridesmaids pretty pastel pinks to a T, it’s clear that newly weds Adrian and Ellena are a stylish pair.
The couple then moved onto their reception venue, The Tea Room, where they used plenty of DIY to personalise the venue:
“Instead of vases, I scoured op-shops and family cupboards for teapots to hold our table flowers. This DIY décor element was homage to the venue as the tea room. We also named the tables as kinds of tea instead of numbers.” Very in-keeping with the theme of the day.
Their dreamy and delicate cake was the icing on the cake (pardon the pun!) styling wise, it was elegant with a vintage lace effect iced on; just perfect for the venue and the classic yet elegant vibe the couple desired. Hats off to Art of Baking for providing them with this delicious and decadent cake.
We asked Ellena if there would be anything she would have changed or done differently and any tips for other couples;
I would change my attitude slightly, I tried to be super ‘bridechilla’ about everything but I wasn’t really happy with the alterations to my dress. I would speak up about it if I had my time over
On the day, take it all in. You’ve likely been planning and thinking about it for a while so just relax and enjoy the big day with your family, friends and husband!
