Congratulations to HRH Prince Harry and Meghan Markle who announced their engagement this Monday!
The wedding industry is still revelling with joy at the news of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement, and rightly so; it’s not every day that there’s a beautiful royal wedding on the horizon. The loved-up lovelies are due to say their “I Do’s” in May and we’re sure it’s going to be a classic, stylish and sensational spring-time affair, that represents everything that they’re about. But of course, the big question that everyone’s thinking is what dress style and designer Meghan will choose.
British designer Caroline Castigliano is the connoisseur of handcrafted luxury bridal wear. Known for her understated classic designs with a glamorous but effortless feel, Castigliano has dressed some of the world’s most stylish women for their weddings and red carpet events.
This is her prediction on what Miss Markle will wear walking down the aisle.
“I think Meghan will wear a gown that is classic yet sensual and stylish with a modern highlight. I have sketched a gown in a beautiful silk zibeline that has a wonderful structure and soft sheen to the finish. The skirt is styled flat into the waist that will sculpt and show Meghan’s slim waistline – it then flows out to a full skirt mounted so it holds its shape. The bodice is a boat neck with long lace sleeves in a French Chantilly lace and follows through to a low V back in sheer Chantilly lace with the gleam of her skin tone showing through the lace. I think this gown would be show stopping. It would be a nod to tradition that would be expected and required from the Royal household but would also show her personal sense of style”.
