Monday Mood Board: Beautiful Ideas for a Book-Inspired Wedding
Happy Monday! How was your weekend, loves? We had a wind-swept one here in a blustery Yorkshire, however, we’re certainly adoring wearing wooley knits and spending cosy nights in front of the fire – are you loving this Autumnal weather too?
Today’s blog is for our beloved book worms, and all about literacy inspired weddings. More and more couples are choosing books as their wedding theme, or just incorporating them into décor as a nod to their favourite novels or quotes! There’s no surprise as to why either, as stories can play a huge part in your own journey together.
So, if you are a couple of book lovers, why not add them into your own special day or even have a library or book-inspired wedding? Let us help you decide at The Wedding Affair…

Set the Scene
Remember Sex and the City, the film? Of course you do! Carrie Bradshaw chose a library as her wedding venue because so many love letters and stories are contained in each. And yes, this is a gorgeous and unique idea. Libraries can be a refined and chic venue that will leave a long-lasting impression.
Antique libraries are perfect for having an art-deco wedding, a refined, vintage, classical and beautifully elegant affair.
Alternatively, opt for a setting that shows your vision, or perhaps that relates to your favourite novel. An outdoor ceremony or orangery would be perfect for a fairy-tale or whimsy wedding, whilst a stately setting is perfect for the lovers of murder mysteries and classical books.

Styling & All Things Pretty
Decorate your reception tables using old books and pages from your favourite novels. Stack books and bundle them with lace and burlap, place flowers in vases atop, your favourite quotes and tealight candles for a bespoke and beautiful styling option. Very fitting for vintage couples too!
Another idea is to put the books or pages under a cloche to accentuate them. You could even write up your own favourite quotes and make table names from them, creating a bespoke theme for each table. A great idea for the diy loving bride and groom.
Finally, a backdrop with your favourite quotes or pages will be the most beautiful idea for your ceremony setting. Surround with elegant florals and draped fabrics for a stunning frame. Double this up to be placed scrolling down from your reception table to save the pennies.

Cakes & Sweet Treats
Wedding cakes are a sweet way to help you embrace the book theme. With the option to choose from many different delicious styles, you’ll have plenty of options to choose from; imitating cakes, cakes with quotes, book spine cakes and cutsey cupcakes. The list is endless with this dream wedding theme.
Of course, if you can’t decide then a dessert table may just be the way to go!
