Monday Mood Board: Bloomin’ Gorgeous Spring Floral Trends…
Good morning to our lovely readers, we hope you all had the best weekend, what did you get up to over the past couple of days? We had THE most gorgeous wedding fair at Swinton Park yesterday, our last one of March actually (can you believe how fast this year is going, wow!?). First of all can we just say how amazing is that venue, a dreamy fairy tale castle fit for any couple. We were joined by a beautiful array of suppliers; delicious cakes, swoon-worthy gowns, the finest tailors and we can not forget those blooms and styling. Utterly show stopping. What was your favourite supplier from the day?
Today we are kicking of with some bloomin’ gorgeous flowers that will soon-to-be gracing the pretty pages of magazines and real-weddings. Along with Spring also comes fresh doses of inspiration and a new lease of life in flowers. There has never being a better time to select flowers for your Spring and Summer wedding. Take a look at our picks of flowers for this season, and colour palettes we are crushing over too.
Fresh from the garden, gorgeous seasonal flowers. For brides, there is nothing quite like clutching a bouquet filled with fresh, fragrant flowers grown with love and harvested by hand by a local farmer, florist or designer.
Thankfully, the trend of incorporating lush greenery and fresh hand picked herbs is becoming more and more common, as awareness and interest in local, seasonal flowers continues to bloom, especially among florists and eco-conscious couples.
Along with heavenly smelling, bouquets and styling incorporating herbs look beautiful too. Nothing looks more chic and rustic than bundles of lavender dotted around, sprigs of rosemary popping here and there, also sage leaves are so fresh and stylish in a bridal bouquet.
Herbs are longer lasting than your average greens, which makes them perfect for looking fresh into the early hours of the morning. It’s never being easier to have a wedding filled with greenery, botanic’s and a lush colour scheme.
The start of wedding season is only a few months away (eeek!). This time of the year (wedding planning and wedding fair season) is the perfect time to discuss gorgeous flowers with your florist, pop to wedding fairs and be pinning none stop to your Pinterest board.
You can’t go far wrong with over the top styling with muted, pastel hues. We are loving these statement pieces, they are nothing short of beautiful, stylish and oh-so suited to the warmer months. Why not take inspiration from Kimy K and tie the knot in front of an elaborate floral wall? Alternatively, an arch would look just as gorgeous.
The continued popularity of boho and gypset-inspired wedding décor support this this organic aesthetic and design style.
Our Love For Hydrangeas…
Spring and summer blooms traditionally, are tight, round balls of flowers. Well you will be pleased to know that this is a trend of the distant past. Stylish brides are opting for large, lush, loose bouquets with more organic forms that tend to be bigger and wider than years past.
Our favourite flower, along with peonies had to be the hydrangea. These larger than life flowers are stunning, fresh and not fussy at all. Hydrangeas are an incredibly versatile flower that works for almost every wedding theme. From a cascading centrepiece’s, to a romantic arch. The options for using hydrangeas are endless. No matter the colours you choose or the other flowers you mix in, the voluminous, soft petals of hydrangeas will complete your wedding day décor!
