The Beauty Bible: The Honeymoon Checklist – The Beauty Essentials
Good morning everyone, happy fizz Friday!
‘The Beauty Bible’ is back this week with some ESSENTIAL information for your holiday or honeymoon packing. (Yes, there is a reason why that words is in capitals.)
Sure enough we’ve all had romantic daydreams about how fantastic our honeymoon will be someday, it seems to be the one aspect of the wedding that many of brides completely put off planning until the very last minute. I mean, we all do it when it comes to holiday packing too. right? For some it’s budget-related because they have to know what they owe for their wedding before they can splurge on a trip. Of course, all the baggage that goes with it too (there’s often a lot of it). But others are just procrastinators who don’t realise how stressed-out they’ll be if they don’t plan their honeymoon packing ahead of time.
While there’s certainly no rule that you have to take a suitcase of brand-new clothing and top-of-the-range beauty products on your honeymoon, you’ll want to bring some new and special things to help make the trip even more memorable. And, after all they’re essentials.
Your packing list will be determined, to a great extent, by where you’re going to honeymoon. If you’re headed off on a ski adventure in the Alps, half of your luggage will be ski gear. A bride packing for a honeymoon at a tropical resort might not need as much luggage as she thinks because itty bitty bikinis and sundresses don’t take up nearly as much room. Today, we are of course focusing on the summer honeymoon’s – after all, i’m sure plenty of you will be jetting away very soon.
Our Honeymoon Essentials List…
1- Sun Cream
You guessed it. Sun cream of course has to be the top of the list. After all, honeymoons are to come away with lush golden tans, not bright red. Sun cream shopping may seem like a chore, but by doing your research you will be able to find great offers and stock up in bulk.
We love Clinique’s Body Cream with SPF 40 for a silky smooth sun cream that’s going to keep you well protected from the hot rays.
Oh, and when you are doing your sun cream shopping remember to check if it’s water resistant. I’ve had many a problem when not reading the bottle properly. Not a good look. At all.
2 – Your Make-Up Bag
Always take an ‘in between size’ makeup bag for travelling. This will help you to decide on your essentials, without taking every product under the sun with you. You really don’t want to be lugging about your whole makeup bag around with you – it can take up priority bikini room and are you really going to wear a full face of make-up on your holibobs? We think not.
To save space in your make-up bag we’re thinking plenty of multi-use products such as lip glosses that double up as a blush. Also, remember your waterproof mascara, tinted moisturiser and even carry a travel sized bottle of Fix + around with you. They’re fab for a little refresh every now and again.
3- A Summer-friendly shampoo & conditioner
Nothing’s worse that getting to your hotel to find the skimpiest bottle of shampoo that is virtually impossible to get out of the tube.
Be prepared with a travel sized bottle of your favourite shampoo and conditioner to keep your locks in tip-top condition. We suggest Kerastase hair products, they act as a barrier to harsh chemicals such as chlorine and will protect from the sun’s damaging rays.
Hair oil will also go down a treat, keeping your hair silky, shiny and banish away unwanted frizz and dryness.
4 – Aloe Vera
Of course when you go abroad you will be wanting to spend as much time in the sun as possible. It’s standard. However, us Brits know far to well that sun is not always our friend. Be prepared with a bottle of Aloe Vera Gel or Cream. It works wonders for the skin and it’s nourishing properties help to replenish and moisturise the skin like nothing I have ever used before. It’s far from sticky and absorbs like an absolute dream.
