What To Wear To A Spring/ Summer Wedding… The Idle Man
Morning lovelies! Today, we have a great feature from The Idle Man, who too won at The UK Blog Awards 2017 but in the Fashion and Beauty Category (if you don’t yet know we won in Weddings and events, eek!). Tom approached me asking if he could contribute something towards The Wedding Affair blog and I saw this as a great opportunity to reach out to our rather gorgeous male audience. After all, it is quite hard for me to come up with idea’s for men, purely as I am Female. So, i’ll pass it over to Tom from The Idle Man for some great idea’s on how to spruce up your wardrobe for those gorgeous weddings still to come this year.
“As men, we don’t really place a lot of thought into what we’re going to wear to any sort of formal occasion, mainly because it’s the same gig, shirt, tie and trousers, job done. However, there’s no harm in mixing it up a little bit, especially when it comes to the warmer weather. This handy little guide will tell you all you need to know on what to wear to a spring or summer wedding this year!
Of course, the normal go-to will be the classic suit, usually in black or navy, but, because it’s a summer wedding, then vary up the colour to appeal to the weather (fingers crossed for sun!).
Opt for a beige or stone coloured suit, this keeps the outfit choice light whilst still maintaining an air of formality. Your choice of shirt is up to you as you can stick to classic white, or you can go fro a light pink or blue to really make the suit stand out.
Now onto your footwear; you want to stick with the smart theme of your look, but because you’re opting for more earthy toned suit, then the best colour to go for is brown. A good penny loafer or brogue will work perfectly with this look, but make sure they’re polished for the big day!
If you’ve been invited to the reception you’re still want to keep it smart, but probably not as formal as you would if were invited to the ceremony. Smart-casual will probably be your best bet, but I don’t mean jeans!
Because of the time of year, you’ll want to opt for a pair of smart chinos, either in navy or beige. Team your chinos with a white button down shirt (it’s bese to stick with a more formal coloured shirt as you’re not going in a suit). Tuck your shirt in and team your outfit with a pair of casual loafers, either black or brown, or maybe even a pair of smart boat shoes to balance out your look.
The most important things to remember is that your clothes, whether formal or not, need to fit you, as you don’t want to turn up to a formal do in an ill-fitting outfit! However, you need to be comfortable in what you’re wearing as you’ll most likely be partying the night away, so you may as well do it in style!”
As always, I would love you to let us know your thoughts and opinions. Do you have anything that is your go-to outfit for a summer wedding? Do et us know in the comments below.
