The Beauty Bible
Venue? Check! Caterer? Check! Dress? Check! We know there are so many different elements of your planning that bring your dream wedding together. There is so much to consider, yet choosing your make-up is one of the most enjoyable aspects of your preparation: who doesn’t love a glamorous make-up trial? Turning your mind to the beauty look you’d love to create certainly is one of the most relaxing and exciting parts of planning; however, it can be tricky to know where to start.
Therefore, we’re bringing together a little series known as ‘The Beauty Bible’: dedicated to selecting the best of the beauty world for the discerning Bride. Delivering looks to suit your theme, designers you adore and colours that you love, we’ll aim to inspire you week after week with sophisticated beauty products and fabulous ideas. (Don’t worry, we know that you Grooms want to look your best for your big day too, so we promise we’ll include you!) We’ll also let you know where you can snap up the beauty buys.
The Beauty Bible’s first chapter is bringing you the sweet scent of bridal bliss: your perfume. It may be but a spritz in your big day preparations, but there can be a lot to think about: this is the scent that you’ll smell in years to come and be instantly transported back to the happy moment when you said ‘I Do’! Would you like the scent of your fragrance to complement the aroma of your flowers? Does your wedding have a theme you’d like your perfume to suit? Is your Groom wearing a fragrance to which you’d like the female equivalent?
There are so many choices so, to inspire you, we’ve put together a list of our favourites based on your bridal-style. Take a look and, as always, we’d love to hear your suggestions.
Find your Fragrance Personality
Coco Mademoiselle: Chanel – The Elegant Bride
Timeless and a true classic: this is most certainly the fragrance for an elegant bride. This scent exudes grace and sophistication, and is perfectly suited to a traditional bride with a modern twist. (Take a look our recent Chanel beauty blog for more inspiration from this fabulous designer brand).
Gucci Flora: Gucci – The Feminine Bride
A look at the packaging of this perfume alone tells you that this is definitely the choice of a feminine bride! Fabulous, fun and floral, we can certainly see this suiting a bride in a princess-style gown in a castle wedding. It’s also a wonderful choice for your bridesmaids.
Sì: Giorgio Armani – The Glamorous Bride
Sophisticated and sensual, Sì is the fragrance of choice for the bride who’ll exude glamour on her big day. Stylish and a little mysterious, it’s the scent that will follow the show-stopping bride down the aisle of a grand stately home.
Daisy: Marc Jacobs – The Colourful Bride
The perfect perfume for a wedding day filled with colour, light and celebration. It would match a bright floral colour scheme perfectly, and the bottle design would look fabulous set on your reception tables as a favour for the ladies in your bridal party.
Romance: Ralph Lauren – The Romantic Bride
For the Bride who’s dreamed of her wedding since she was small, this is the ideal choice of fragrance. Classic floral notes make this scent one to wear to walk down a candlelit aisle on a day filled with romance.
Aqua Oriens: Van Cleef and Arpels – The Destination Bride
Inspired by a Van Cleef and Arpels’ jewellery line, this stunning bottle sparkling with aquamarine and sapphire holds the perfect scent for a bride getting married by the sea. Fresh and fruity, yet sophisticated, this is ideal for the Bride who’s chosen to walk across white sands to meet her Groom.
All of the fragrances above, and more, can be purchased from our wonderful partner Boots UK.
