Luscious lips and beautiful brows to complete your wedding day make-up look.
Last week’s instalment of The Beauty Bible brought you the first five steps of Bobbi Brown’s Step-by-Step Bridal Beauty guide: how to prepare your skin for even make-up coverage, and the perfect beauty basics for a flawless big day base. Now, we’re excited to bring you Part Two: bringing some colour and glamour to your lips and eyes.
As we shared with you last week, Bobbi Brown’s website is packed with make-up lessons and tutorials to give you the perfect look for every event; in true WeddingHour style, of course, we’ve tested the make-up out for ourselves before sharing Bobbi’s beauty steps with you (it was a tough job…!).
If you missed Part One, don’t worry: simply click on ‘Blog Posts’ on the WeddingHour Blog, and you’ll find Part One in last week’s instalment of The Beauty Bible. While you’re there, make sure you click ‘Subscribe’ in the top right hand corner to make sure the WeddingHour blog is delivered straight to your inbox: never miss a post!
…continued from Steps 1-5, as featured in ‘Part One’.
Eating canapés, drinking champagne and, of course, kissing: your lipstick needs to withstand a lot on your wedding day. Fill in your lips with Lip Liner before applying colour to make your lipstick and lip gloss last even longer. When it comes to colour, try a pink, rose or plum shade to brighten your face in your wedding photographs: try one of Bobbi’s Rich Lip Colour and Creamy Matt Lip Colour shades. For that finishing touch, apply some High Shimmer Lip Gloss that you can touch-up throughout the day.
One of our favourite of Bobbi’s tricks is to apply an Eye Shadow shade in the same tone as your eyebrows and hair colour to enhance the arches of your eyebrow. Brush the hairs into place with an Eye Brow Brush, then finish with some clear Eye Brow Shaper: your brows will look, neat, natural and beautiful.
8. Eye Shadow
Bobbi’s Long-Wear Cream Shadow has a gorgeous sparkle-infused formula (yes, we thought that sounded fabulous too!) that stays true to colour and free from creases all day: it’s an award-winning formula! Use a Cream Shadow Brush to apply it, building colour for a polished look that suits your style.
Don’t worry about tears on your big day ruining your wedding make-up: Bobbi’s Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner ensures that your eye make-up stays in place. Use the Ultra Fine Eye Liner Brush to apply the liner as close to the base of your lashes as possible, starting at the inner corner of the eyes and moving outward. The gel formula becomes transfer-resistant once it’s dry.
The No Smudge Mascara is aptly named: we promise you, this won’t budge all day! Layer-up your lashes with an additional coat for added drama.
You can buy all of the products featured here directly from the Bobbi Brown website.
