The Beauty Bible: Summer Skin, Make-Up Hacks To Achieve That Gorgeous Glow…
What a lovely morning it is, happy Friday everyone!
Today’s the day, Eeek! Lisa and myself are travelling down to ‘The Big Smoke’ today (in better words for us Yorkshire folk, London) and we couldn’t be any more excited. We are heading to The UK Blog Awards, because guess what, we only have just gone and made it as FINALISTS. Tonight calls for a few drinks, and all fingers and toes crossed that we win. Wish us good luck guys!
What are you gorgeous bunch getting up to over this weekend?
For this weeks edition of The Beauty Bible, as I think about how I am going to do tonight’s make-up I thought I would put together my favourite products for creating that oh-so gorgeous glow, because everyone wants beautiful skin, whether you are spending a night at The Blog Awards, or walking down the isle, right? Take inspiration for your very own skin care and make-up routine with these easy-to-use products. Do let me know in the comments if you have tried any, and how you got on!
This is something that I have grown into as I am working to get my skin in tip-top condition for my holiday. I have acne prone skin, so I am very conscious about how my skin looks with and without make-up. So, I have done my research, splurged (my poor bank account) out on some rather great new products, all in the name of good skin care and fingers crossed lovely skin for my Holiday.
The first step to good and glowing skin is to give that make-up bag a HUGE overhaul, ditch the products you know dont work for your skin type, throw out the high coverage gloop and switch up for a much more lightweight, nutritious foundation.
A personal preference of mine is the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation. Brides, this will give you a lovely natural glow, and you can be sure of no cakeyness’ either. Another foundation that beauty bloggers and magazines alike rave about is the Georgio Armarni Luminous Silk Foundation. This is too a sheer foundation, so perfect for these Spring and Summer months, however it is build-able if you are seeking that extra coverage.
Glowing skin starts from within, right? Start switching your primers and skin care too if you know what you are using now isn’t working. Try talking to make-up artists and dermatologists for expert advice on what will suit your skin type. I always have done, and always will rave about the Sunday Riley Collection, these beautiful botanic luxury products are great for acne prone skin; personally I use Sunday Riley UFO and Sunday Riley Good Genes. UFO work’s to reduce breakouts and redness, where as good genes then works at the texture of my skin, it act’s as a mini facial and exfoliates, leaving skin with an oh-so gorgeous glow.
What products would you recommend for radiant skin?
Next, in a Brides summer make-up bag I would always recommend that you carry around Fix Plus by MAC Cosmetics. This handy little bottle can be used for so much and I guarantee you are going to love it! Use Fix Plus at the start of your make-up application after you have moisturised with the Strobe Cream Hydrant by MAC, both of these work to add the teeniest shimmer to make-up, and not in a horrible sticky way either, if you are seeking that natural dew, then you must try out these super hydrating products.
And, it’s got even better, MAC have recently launched a Strobe Cream for every skin type and problem too, meaning that there will most definitely be one that is suited to you. My favourite? It has to be pink-lite, it’s got a subtle hint of pink that makes skin look very healthy!
Anyway, once you have finished make-up application give another spritz of Fix Plus and you will be all ready to go, it will keep make-up on ALL day long, and keep some in your Bridesmaids bag too for when you need a refresh!
