Monday Mood Board: A Pantone Inspired July Wedding
Morning everyone, how was your weekend? To banish away those Monday Morning blues we have an extra pretty post today, filled with one of our favourite things of 2017, greenery.
So, we are closer to Christmas than the start of 2017. It’s a pretty scary thought to think how fast this year is speeding by and also, it’s been well over 8 months since we found out what the Pantone colour of 2017 would be. It’s fair to say that the colour ‘Greenery’ has gone down an absolute treat with suppliers that we have worked with so far this year and it’s also been well received by Brides and Grooms not only in England, but in other countries too (perhaps the most gorgeous destination wedding colour?!).
Greenery is described by Pantone as a a “tangy yellow-green”. It’s a colour often seen in foliage, fresh and tropical leaves and too, summer tones. In today’s mood board we are bringing forth this refreshing take, showing just how greenery marry’s perfectly together for your summer time wedding.
Of course, one of the main things about using greenery in your wedding is the use of your styling and floristry. With this theme, the floral’s are absolutely key so 100% don’t hold back with this side of the planning. Mix up your colour palette of the colour green. Incorporate different shades and tones for an opulent chic look. Use large leaves of foliage, perhaps ferns and rows of Ivy for banqueting tables. We find that using the colour with neutral wooden furniture and whites just works wonderfully. If you are seeking that elegant look, then this is 100% the way to go.
Struggling for a theme or colour? Greenery is a great way of making the outdoors and indoors more cohesive and it lends itself perfectly to both Summer or Winter weddings. In Summer, embrace the gardens in full bloom and in the Winter foraged foliage and berries are your friends.
As you can see below, greenery also works beautifully with any style of wedding day – elegant or rustic. Because it’s a natural material, it immediately looks like it was meant to be where ever it is placed. And that’s the secret to creating a look that’s not over-complicted or over-styled.
At The Wedding Affair we adore Jenny Packham’s bridal gowns and think they would pair dreamily with a greenery inspired wedding.
The soft hues ranging from dusty pinks to soft champagnes would look so beautiful married with the colour. Her whole collection of dresses are just so simply elegant, often adorned with delicate embellishments, lace and jewels we are struggling to think of what there isn’t to love.
We couldn’t forget the details either: for this theme, you wedding cake would look gorgeous in a simple ivory or champagne colour complete with iced foliage, or even real foliage. Our favourite elements of this theme is the ‘less is more’ look and we feel that a cake looking this gorgeous will make the perfect centrepiece. So, forgo the fuss and opt for an oh-so elegant cake.
Stationery would also suit this theme in simple clean cut colours with a little pop of pastel colour. Complete the look of your day with matching name tags, order or service and a place setting map.
And, for the brides bouquet? A wild, unstructured yet refined combination. Create the perfect bridal bouquet with lush blooms and trailing vines… why not add a pop of colour to your colour scheme and mix in shades of blush or white? Tied together with a ribbon will complete the look and add a touch of femininity and romance too.
