Monday Mood Board: The Pantone Colour Of 2017… Greenery
Happy New year everyone! We hope you have had the most amazing weekend celebrating with friends and family. In hope that the hangovers are fast disappearing, today we bring you a feature that we know you will love for the start of 2017. Of course, the pantone colour of 2017 is one that is undoubtably fresh and stylish – the colour of the year is greenery.
Also we would like to say a huge, huge, huge congratulations to all those that have got engaged over the christmas period – such exciting times ahead for you all! Make sure that you pop by our luxury wedding fairs that we have lined up for you in 2017, you are in for a treat!
If there were one style or theme that always feels like it fit for a wedding it would be botanical. Everyone knows that flowers and weddings are basically made for each other, so for this weeks Monday Mood Board we are looking at lovely green, and lush botanics.
Colour company Pantone has revealed a zesty shade of green as its colour of the year for 2017. The colour, named Greenery, is described by Pantone as a “tangy yellow-green” often seen in foliage. Definitely bringing forth a refreshing take, Greenery is a tangy yellow-green that marry’s perfectly together for your wedding.
A botanical theme is both sophisticated and delicate. Whether you are looking for a winter wedding and want to have it in a grand venue surrounded by candelabra with giant fern styling. Alternatively, a summer wedding in an orangery, surrounded by greenery with the sun casting shadows through the leaves. Just stunning either way!
A botanical wedding theme would also be absolute perfect for a destination wedding, the freshness of green floral’s mixed with an ivory or white palette would make for a spectacular colour scheme!
With this theme, the floral’s are absolutely key so, don’t hold back with this side of the planning! The more the better we say! Mix up your colour palette of the colour green, incorporate different shades and tones for a more stylish look. We find that using the colour with neutral wooden furniture just works wonderfully and gives a more elegant look it. Experiment with mixing golds into your colour scheme too for a little touch of glamor.
If you are looking for blooms that are larger than life why not choose Hydrangea? They are great for making bold statements and fabulous for staying fresh for long periods of time! They would look stunning as a centre piece…
And, for the bouquet? We so are feeling a wild, unstructured yet refined combination. Create the perfect bridal bouquet with lush blooms and trailing vines… why not add a pop of colour to your colour scheme and mix in shades of pink or any colour which you feel represents you as a couple? This looks just lovely with unusual types of flowers and berries such as succulents!
Here at The Wedding Affair we absolutely adore Jenny Packham’s designs and think they would fit in perfectly for the botanical theme. The soft hues ranging from dusty pinks to soft champagnes – would look so beautiful paired with the pantone colour of the year! Her whole collection of dresses are just so simply elegant, ranging from ivory to champagne coloured dresses, adorned with delicate embellishments. The Bridal Collection Harrogate has a beautiful selection of Jenny Packham dresses in there gorgeous boutique.
