Monday Mood Board: Late Summer Sun
Good morning lovelies! I hope you’re all well and the weekend has treated you kindly?
It may be a little (or a lot if you’re from Yorkshire) miserable outside this morning however, we do have a dreamy Monday Mood Board post that is more than likely to add a little summer sunshine back into your day.
Today’s wedding colour inspiration is a combination of gorgeous hues with a twist, made up of beautiful, hazy evening summer shades such as pinks, purples and golden sunshine-y yellow. Add in subtle hints of floral print and just a sprinkling of gold to make this the perfect late summer wedding palette…
Bloomin’ Beautiful Bouquets…
So, how do you create this dreamy late-summer sun palette?
Simple and dainty summer wildflowers are perfect for this look. Choose hedge grow favourites, such as cowslip, daisies and pair with larger garden beauties such as roses, peonies and ranunculus for a fluffier and bolder look to your bridal bouquet.
Below, you can see a selection of both beautiful blooms and a lovely selection of hues. Don’t they just compliment each other perfectly? Add in touches of evergreen to incorporate different colours and textures. Dried flowers add a little of an Autumnal feel to the bouquet, whilst complimenting the pastel perfect yellow’s, blushes and off-whites.
For the fashion, a flowy, romantic bridal gown, or a-line (we’re firm lovers of Pronovias). Alternatively, for a bohemian look, one of the sparkling Champagne Jenny Packham gowns would go down a treat. Printed floaty maxi dresses for the bridesmaids, and accessorise with matching flower crowns. Choose grey suits for the boys with pastel ties or bowties.
Stationery & Styling…
For the stationery, you can set the scene with a softly illustrated floral suite. Alternatively, block bold colours will will set the perfect tone for your late summer wedding. Again, we’re taking inspiration from delightful sunset hues; burnt orange, mustard yellow and green colours not only set the colour for the day, but they look oh-so stylish paired with calligraphy.
For the styling, adorn your venue with candles to match your blooms, stationery and overall colour palette. Not only do the candles work out as a budget friendly option, but add a little more dimension to your last summer-sun wedding, adding a little touch more warmth and reminding guests that your wedding is nearing Autumn.
Choose somewhere like a vineyard or country estate and allow the beauty in nature to be your decor. Keep centrepieces low and trailing but add coloured runners and crockery into your tablescape for a relaxed hint of luxury.
All The Details…
Yellow is such a summery colour, but with its dash of gold and mustard this yellow is more suited to the very end of Summer. As the leaves start to turn and the sun sits lower in the sky, but evenings are still long and mild (sometimes)….this colour palette would be just perfect for a glorious marque wedding making the most of the last days of Summer!
Incorporate your cake into the theme by choosing a fabulous floral cake with a sprinkling of gold for a magical summer look! We’re picked out this design below due to it’s magical golden icing and alternative pick for flower’s to complete it. It’s got the same look that is desired by this theme, which touches of both Summer and Autumn. OK, and it look’s pretty deeelicious, too!
Finally, capture Summer in a bottle with DIY Olive Oil (or honey) for favours your guests will enjoy long after the big day. Alternatively, these cocktail’s below look like they’d go down an absolute treat. I’ll leave you to use your imagination to decide upon the flavouring…
